Hey guys! New to the thread. Just wondering if a long tube header and high flow cat on my 5.7 will have any negative effect my transmission or my engine.

You might throw a code if you are not tuned for it.

If you have the 8 speed trans there shouldn't be any negative effect on the trans. The headers will make your truck perform lots better, however for optimum performance you will need to have to invest in a tuner. With the ARH long tubes you can expect about a 25hp gain.

I'm running ARH long tubes w/hi flow cats on my '14, and I had my tune changed specifically for the addition of the headers (you pretty much have to run a tune with headers). No issues and I'm running a HemiFever tune.

The only thing you'll probably notice without a tune is a slight loss of low end torque....

So for the $$ spent was it a noticeable difference in all driving aspects? If you knew then what you know now, would you spend the cash again??

I don't think anybody here regrets LTs. The driver side install sucks. Engine revs faster, sounds pretty good with stock muffler. I noticed a little bit more power, but I'm also still getting used to my new engine. 20/20 hindsight, I would've wrapped them before installing.

Yes to both questions. I also run a 14" Magnaflow and a Pedal Commander. I am very satisfied with the performance mods that I have done.

Someone might have said to not bother with running a tune on a gasser compared to a diesel.........the HP gains are not even comparable BUT a good custom tune on a Hemi will really “wake” the truck up. The tune is far more than just HP/TQ gains.

I don’t even have full bolt ons and I can tell one helluva difference with my custom tune.........truck seems like a complete **** anytime I have to “return to stock”............

Can’t imagine how much better it would be if I actually got the ARH LT’s I’ve been drooling over.

Well worth it IMO.

There will be no negative effects except for rear tire wear and mpg will go down ONLY due to you going WOT all the time to hear that HEMI roar.

Let us know if we can help set you up. We offer some quality brands and discounts to all the members here!

I would have paid more. Other my 4.56 gears, the LTs made the biggest change.

Gears always make the biggest gain. My 3:92's weren't even performing well with my 37's. Time for 4:56 especially now that I have long tube JBA 1 7/8" and off road Y pipe.

4:56 with the 37's should be just right! Let me know if we can help you out with gears. we recommend Yukon

JMO

37’s would be better suited with 4.88’s if it’s possible in your diffs.
