Yeah I was looking at getting some 1.3/4 long tubes for my ram with a ported TB and diablo trinity . I sometimes do long runs driving 6+ hours out over the road, gravel/ paved sections question is what's the different between going with the catted exhaust vs strait thru headers? I had people say the cats add just enough back pressure to save burning valves and I had people saying no cats will cause a lot of low end grunt lost. I currently got the mufflex with the 14 inch maggy. So strait headers il basically have no restriction in exhaust. There is no emissions testing where I live. Any help would be great helping me decide next setup.

I'm running long tubes and catless exhaust into true dual Maggy exhaust. No loss on low end and it preforms very well.

I don't think there will be too much difference in exhaust sound or flow. You;ll just have to do something with the oxygen sensors- maybe use a tune to turn them off, that's worked for me.

For the guys running long tubes, are you picking up any measurable performance gains or is it mainly a sound thing? And do you have other mods that require the extra breathing?

Definitely power gains
I also have an 85mm TB and a CAI., and the tune to bring it all together.

Mine untuned made the truck feel sluggish. But combined with the ported tb, vararam and the tune it really came together. Power increased across the board according to the butt dyno.

Any scientific data -- dyno results or track records? Not saying the ole butt dyno isn't accurate, but it's hard to measure for anyone but the person driving.

The truck not running right until it got a tune makes sense to me, as I would guess your air/fuel ratio was out of whack.

I picked up four tenths with catless longtubes and a tweak of my tune for them.

Bumping up this thread as Im doing research for what I am going to do... Need new cats so figured Id upgrade to headers and mids, for those running no cats is your exhaust raspy? I have the muffler delete now and not the biggest fan of the sound when its cold, any videos you can post up of sound and pics of set up would be appreciated!

There's no reason to not run cats. Modern monolithic block cats lose maybe 2% flow. When you figure the size of the tubing the long tube mfg's are using you basically lose nothing and you also have no emissions concerns. Cats are a win/win for everyone.

Perfect thats what I wanted to know... Ive considered the OBX for SRT8 Jeeps but there is still some modification needed on mid pipes correct? TylerB Ive seen you were in a discussion with this previously with fasthemiram

Fasthemiram knows much more about than I do as he actually had a set installed on his previous 2011. As far as I know the headers will fit with a minor dent in one of the driver side primaries to clear the steering shaft and the midpipes would be a total custom build to fit.
