I have a 2017 1500 quad cab 4x4 and I'm looking at a 2017 ram 2500 crew cab this weekend. I'm wondering if I can swap my camper shell from my quad cab to the new crew cab? Is the bed rails same width?

Not sure, but on a related note, I was always curious why do a 2500 w/ camper shell vs say just getting a Durango? I think the Durango can tow almost 9K lbs... is it for stanky/wet stuff under the camper?

Yeah it’ll fit. As long as both beds are same length.

What about the curve of the cab or back glass?

This will be your problem. It will “fit” but the gap between the cab and cap will be off.

Gap being off doesnt bother me as long it's not hitting the cab.

I’d have to see a pic. But I believe the back of the cabs are the same shape as well. Quad is just shorter. I could be wrong

There is a thread with a maroon truck somewhere on the forum that talks about and shows pictures of the “issue”. Aside from esthetics the cap works fine I believe.

I'd like to see that picture. Can you find it? I'll try to too.

This is the pic I found on the thread titled “Shell canopy thoughts”. I don’t know how to share the link on my phone. Either way this is a topper for a CC on a QC. You can see how the lines don’t match up.

This one is mine for comparison

So, on a quad cab, the back cab sits straight up while crew cab slanted a little. I dont think the gap would bother me much but hitting the cab will bother me. That means my cap will leave a bigger gap?
