I have a 2025 Ram 2500 tradesman. When I drive by a particular spot just north of Baton Rouge, I get 3 loud dings in my truck. I don't know what causes these dings but it only happens when I'm headed north and not when I'm headed south.
There is no indication of anything on the 12" screen or the dashboard.
It does not happen in my GMC but it did also happen in my 2022 2500 Laramie.
Anyone know what causes this ding?
It seems that something in that area is sending a signal to my truck but I can't figure out what it could be.

Is there anything or business that could possible have radar installed? Are you near or passing any kind of boat yard/facility? In one of my previous vehicles everytime I would get close to a tunnel entrance that goes under river it would knock my forward collision radar offline until I got past the tunnel.

This is the location where it happens. I don't see anything unusual there. It has happened at a couple of other locations but I don't remember exactly where those were.

There used to be a feature that dinged when a favorite song started to play , does someone share the truck with you that may have entered a song ?

'technology' is wierd

When we first got GPS on the phone we couldn't drive through a certain city because the phone would always send us to the ballpark

After looking at the map the only place I see is the airport which might be using something new or something on a frequency that could be causing this.

Worth checking out although it still seems weird that it only happens when traveling in one direction.

@Complete Turf you could try running a complete circuit around the airport in both directions, Rt19 south to I-110S to Rt408E to left on Plank Rd and left on Blount back to Rt19 again. Holds pretty tight and consistent regarding distance from the airport.

I do travel Plank Rd and Harding Blvd often and have never got the dings on those roads.

Your nav system is picking up an alert. The alert could be for several different reasons. Most common is a traffic camera in your proximity but it could be approaching emergency vehicles or speed alerts. I get it in a certain location as travel on the interstate at highway speeds so the traffic light isn’t the reason I get it. Nor would it be approaching emergency vehicles b/c it’s always in the exact same spot that just happens to be as I cross a county line so I’m guessing it has to do with one county’s emergency alert system.

It’s you traffic camera alert. Looks like there’s one at the Blount rd and 19 intersection.
If your navigation screen is pulled up on the radio, it tells you what those alerts are.
Navigation settings is where you turn them on and off too.

last March I had it happen twice in Phoenix when I had the Navigation on. Never happened again or before....so far. It's was verrrry loud three gongs I would call it. Really startled me. I looked all around but could see no reason for it. 2023 Ram 2500. Two different locations in the city. First one was pulling out of a gas station the next one was turning right at a signal. I don't normally have the nav on so cannot say if that was the cause.

It is telling you that a red light camera is comming up. My 2022 Power wagon dose this in Florida. They use them all over the place down here. The first time mine went off, it scared the crap out of me.

I looked at the navigation settings and this is what it looks like. If you look at the very bottom setting, I changed it to include "verbal". Next time I go by there I will look closer for the camera and see if the warning gives me anything besides the 3 DINGS.

definitely a traffic camera. It's annoying as hell. Scared the crap out of me the first time it happened.
