ARGH.. SO PISSED.

Handful of tiny spots on the bottom front bumper where love bugs ate through my paint. 6 or 7 black spots that stand out like crazy to me.

Any way to remedy? Do i need to worry about more paint peeling off?

Louisiana has them real bad some years. I dont see how guys ride motorcycles some seasons, LOL. Id also say prewax before bug season would help. I dunno know about now.

I would think preventative measure like 3M film would be the only true protection.

I have herd good things about the 3m film. You can also get a clear vinyl wrap Witch is probably similar to the 3m film. Other wise I would keep it waxed or sealed, sealents are supposes to last longer than wax. Wax will help but you'll be doing it every 3 weeks or more often.

I wish! We have them in south Georgia. Once in the spring, once in the fall. They are usually bad for two weeks. I've just started seeing a few this week. During love bug season, I wash them off daily and apply a coat of wax afterwards. This makes cleanup much easier. If you leave them on the paint, the acid in their guts will eat through your paint.

Yup, Like I said in another post. With all the hurricanes they kinda got wiped out, but they seem to have made a recovery. First time I've seen them real bad in a while.

From about 5 years ago.

^^That cant be from one drive, LOL, thats nuts.

Yes, afraid so. You can easily do that in a 20 or 30 mile drive. During the worse times, you can easily see the swarms of them on the road as you're driving. I've been told they are attracted to highways by the petroleum smells from engines. I can believe that theory because when you squish one you can smell a petroleum type smell.

Yeah, we get them here in south Louisiana and really bad at times, but I havent seen a vehicle that bad in a long time, especially from one drive (thats not a cross country drive.) Tham bugs are bad though.
