Just to confirm

My Sport came with the projector/led package

I pieced my 35w HID kit together using only ballasts/bulbs/ignitors.

Then set the truck to HID in Alfaobd.

Then enabled bi-xenon to get the brights to function properly.

My set up is a basic factory install :D:D:D

Your harness may be set up to account for the upgrade from quads? Not sure.
I believe as Lee stated that the pins aren't populated correctly on the China harness. Retroshops harness is for quad to projector conversions. The China harness is supposed to be for the same.

Ghost are you running a mopar spec harness on your HID kit?
I'm running retroshops 13+ conversion harness for the projectors and DDM Tunings harnesses for their HIDs.

Gibbs upgraded from quads to projectors. This harness he purchased was designed (or supposed to have been) to go from one to another.

Check. I did see the stipulation on that #3 going to nothing. One way or another the OP will get sorted out :D

Yeah my money is on the harness.

Factory function for the shutter is it only lifts when you push the stalk forward for the high beams. Pulling the stalk towards you, for quick flashes, doesn't activate the shutter.

That is how my factory projectors work on my 14. Obviously with the upgrade harness it shouldn't care which means it's a wiring harness issue not a program issue.

No doubt @Gibbs will prevail! Little trouble for saving a few bucks but experience/knowledge gained!

Ok, I’m confused once again....lol. I have the factory projectors that came with the truck from the factory, but I’ve since then upgraded the bulbs to the vanquish auto HID’s in the projectors and the same brand stock-sized 9005 LED’s for the highs. Do I all the sudden need that alpha thing to set my truck to HID and enable that bi-xenon things for my highbeams?

My new bulbs seem to work just fine, so good in fact that I’m just gonna have to leave my auto highbeams off because the brights are so much brighter now that the reflection off the speed limit signs makes the sensor think there’s an oncoming car coming at me and it dims the lights for a sign but if these two settings would make my 450 bucks worth of new bulbs work as they should, I guess I’d have to reconsider buying that thing and having to buy the bypass harness.

Sooo, what am I missing out on, even if I really aren’t missing out on anything at all?

Less load or strain on system? Couldn’t tell you for sure as I haven’t done it.

I got the wire moved from pin 3 to pin 1, so hopefully that fixes it. I contacted the vendor on ebay and explained the issue I ran into. He offered to send another set of adapter harnesses or give me a 50% discount/refund if I wanted to fix them myself. I chose the discount.

I will say, I had a heck of a time getting the wire moved. Taking this connector apart was a pain and resulted in mild damage and mucho frustration. But, I finally got it. Maybe I'll get the lights installed today, but still a little under the weather. (The last week has been rough).

Bottom line, I got what I paid for. But at least I'll only end up with about $35 in the harnesses. If I ever have trouble with the large connectors/pins , it's a 1J0973737 connector which appears very common on Audi/VW cars. If the resistors for turn signals burn out, I can remove them and set front turn signals to LED with Alfa. As far as I can tell, I could make my own conversion harnesses without any kind of special components other than the specific connectors needed. But when I looked into that option, the cost wasn't that far off from ebay ones, which is why I went that route.

Thanks for the responses. I'll eventually get em put back in to verify operation.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you need to do anything if they are working properly. As long as the shutter is moving when you go to high beam, I'd leave it alone.
Seems like every time I go to screwing with something that's already working, I make it worse. But that may only be me, lol

You are exactly right. :D

My goal was to use HIDs through the stock system. I didn't want any extra harnesses, modules, or resistors.

To answer what you might be missing out on? Nothing in this scenario

Weather was nice yesterday afternoon and I was feeling better, so I finally installed the headlights and newly modified adapter harnesses. Somehow, the stock 9005 high beam bulbs escaped, so they got replaced with modified 9011s. :emotions33:

The low beam shutters work now, so I can't wait to see the difference at night. Should be amazing...

Drove to work this morning. Difference is...night and day! I can finally say it was worth the upgrade. With the price of the projectors, wiring adapters, DDM HID kit, and 9011 bulbs, I'm in it for $540. I'm really pleased and thankful for all the help and suggestions.

Glad everything is working correctly for you now! Ranks high in my list of upgrades that I'm thankful to have accomplished.

Good to hear Gibbs! How long did shipping take on the DDM kit? I've been waiting 3 weeks. I'm anxious to try my new Morimoto FXR 3.0 projector swap

I got it from Amazon, Prime 2-day shipping.

I noticed one of my bulbs seems to be a slightly different color than the other, but it's not terrible.

Are you gonna use the DDM kit with the Morimoto projectors?

Yes. I ordered the DDM plus 55W kit with premium bulbs from DDM website, they shipped from China. What DDM kit did you get?
