Looking to fashion some tow hooks for the 05 1500 SLT. How do I get that lower plastic insert out without breaking the tabs...I HATE THOSE PLASTIC TABS!

I used a phillips screwdriver but still ended up breaking some. I've got extras if you need some. I couldn't stand to pay the dealer price so I bought a box from Grainger (screw rivet item number 5ZDR3).

If that's what you mean by "plastic tabs"

One more thing. If it is the screw rivets, I had to cut some out from behind the bumper to remove them. They just don't unscrew too well.

Now that I posted all that, I see you said grill insert, not bumper insert. Doh!

Totally meant the bumper insert! I was just going to try and screw those plastic screws out and I was stripping them since they don't come out too easy - I'll order some of them from Grainger though for when I get it back in - thanks!

Had the one on my 05 removed to install a bull bar, if I remember right, had to cut the plastic screws off.

thanks for the advice...ended up just cutting the plastic screws off and I'll probably throw whatever bolts I have in the garage in there when it goes back on.
