Guess I'm looking for another 4x4 drop kit... 4G style! :********:

This could take some time...

McG's I think is the only company that makes a kit. Check with Erik - he's priced it out.

man, I saw a kit for a 4wd, but I think it said it was for a quad cab. I know I commented on it, but I can't find the post!

I dont think there's much difference between quad and crew cab suspension wise. Wheel base and all that is the same, cab length, and bed length are the only thing that I could find different. My cab is 4 inches longer I believe, and bed is 4 inches shorter. I wonder if it matters?

ok nm it's not 4 inches, its like 6-8 inches bigger cab/shorter bed, but exactly same suspension.

Looks like the ground force and McGaughy's kits contain the same parts, except the ground force is more expensive and contains new shocks. Hmmm

Copperhead... what drop did you use on yours? Didn't you do spindles? I bet the 2wd and 4wd drops are exactly the same, just like on my 05.

Does the 4th gen use torsion bars or coils up front?

Trup: saw your truck at chilis on my way home. Looks good man.

Trup, I have the deluxe and the economy McG kits. I used the springs from the economy kit and the spindles from the Deluxe kit. I have the extra rear springs from the Deluxe kit (same as the rear for the econo kit) sitting in the garage. I got them in case the cutting 1 inch from the rear coils went wrong, I could just slap the extra ones in.

Damn, I've been searchin everywhere for the 4wd lowering kit. I swear I ran across a link that showed the Mcgaughy 4wd kit, but it is not listed on their site. Guess I'll have to call em. I also want to do the 2/4 drop on my 4th gen 4wd.

4wd guys, this is what I would do. I tracked down this info for some dude who was going to lower his 4wd and then backed out. :killer:

Called Ground Force and chatted with them about buying the front coils only from the 9984 kit. They will sell them for $186, p/n 11935. Call (724) 430-2068, ask for Daric. I told him I already bought some used BT rear coils and didn't want to spend $800 on the GF kit since I only needed front coils.

Then, Stylintrucks has the rear coils only for $137. That would pretty much cover it. My Belltech kit came with 4 coils and 4 bump stops, so you really don't need anything else. I assume you won't need front bump stops for the 4wd since GF doesn't include any bump stops. I would just cut down the factory rear bump stops if needed, the ones that came with my kit look like shorter versions of the stock ones. Rent you a spring compressor for the front and $60 for an alignment and you're dropped for about $400.
