I have a 2017 ram night crew cab 4 wheel drive that's stock with 20 inch rims. I have been reading post about lowering rear 2 inches to level the looks. I don't mind cutting springs as I've done this many times on different vehicles with no problems. I have 2 questions. 1-if any one has cut springs to lower rear, how much did you cut to lower rear 2 inches? 2-I have read here that if you lower rear, it will move the rear tires forward. For the life of me, how as I haven't ever had this problem . How does this happen? Also a 3rd question, How large dia. front and rear sway bars can I install on my truck and still use stock mounting holes and who makes them? Thanks so much for your help and time.

GF makes a rear lowering spring. Im thinking of going that route over cutting springs. I would suggest helper bags also for when you have a load to combat squatting.

If you don't mind a little fab work on the brackets you can put the 3/4 ton rear swaybar on,if that's not up your alley Hellwig makes pretty decent swaybars for both the front and rear of the 2 wheel drive trucks,if you have a 4X4 your SOL on an aftermarket front swaybar, but you can still use Hellwigs or the 3/4 ton swaybar on the rear.FYI the stock swaybars are hollow bars, they're not a solid bar. Usually cutting the springs is a trial and error method, probably start with about 3/4 of a coil and go from there. The rear tires move forward because the rear locating arms go from semi parallel with the ground to an uphill direction, which in a nutshell means the locating arms basically get shorter. On a 2" drop they won't move forward enough to really be noticeable. If you encounter a high speed sway after lowering, you'll want to look into either Illicits or Inez's rear relocation kits, which bring the rear locating arms back down and into factory spec.

I put the McGaughy's 2" Rear Leveling Coil Springs on my 2010 Ram 1500 QC and they were perfect. I have a 2017 now and Im looking to do the same.
