Does anyone know if you can fit 285/65’s on Ram stock wheels? 2022 Laramie 4x4. Stock comes with 275/65’s. Have about 3/8 gap from upper control arm right now. According to what I’ve read the 285 is 1/2 wider. Thanks.
If the tire is 1/2" wider, that is 1/4" per side. That said, I don't think I would mess around just to gain a 1/2" wider tire when your clearances are already that tight.
Roger. Thanks for your input. I think I’ll just get the same size, just in an LT. Don’t like the stock Goodyears. And really don’t want to go up to 20 wheels.
Good call, 18" rubber is WAY cheaper plus a lot better selection. If you use them off road or have lots of potholes, the taller sidewall on the 18 is a big benefit. They also ride way better with more sidewall. Especially noticeable on my 2500, which I intentionally ordered with 18" rims. I run LT Duratracs and air them down to 40 rear and 45 front, makes a BIG difference in how smooth it rides and still matches the load/pressure chart.
