I purchased the below lug nuts for my 2017 Ram 1500 with 20x8 factory wheels.

Sposuit M14x1.5 Lug Nuts - Replacement for 2012-2018 Ram 1500, 2019-2024 Ram 1500 Classic - Closed End Chrome Lug Nut(20 Pcs)

My mechanic says that these will not fit. He says that the angle is correct, but the top of the shoulder is too small and the lug nut could eventually work its way into the center of the lug nut hole.

He says I need a nut made to factory specs.

What are some of you using for your lug nuts?

I have mcgard on one truck and gorilla on the other.

Both work, the ones you indicated will work as well. IMHO.

Your stock lug wrench may not fit

I'm not an expert on this since Acorn/taper 'sounds' similar to me but the terminology that seemed to match up best in my opinion was ... 60° "large (or extra large) cone seat" and in my opinion you need to be able to see actual dimensions of what you're buying to compare to the OEM lugs.

>> The Gorilla Lugs seem to hit the mark across the board <<

Note:
>> the RHI and McGard brands did not have the correct "Large" cone seat and would have likely pulled into and possibly though the aluminum rim seat at some point.

I'll copy/repost my pictures from the other thread here for reference: (Post 45, Post 50, Post 52 & 53)

Mpgrimm2, thank you for your help with this. I took off two of my lug nuts to compare. One that is probably factory, because of the chrome cap, and one that is solid metal. Their dimensions are identical. The new ones I purchased are way too small.

I looked at the 66148FS on the Gorilla web site, but I can't purchase them because I am blocked from adding them to the shopping cart, and no one near me sells them.

I found some on Amazon that have the same dimensions as mine. I will order them and see if their dimensions are correct.

Mpgrimm2, every non-Gorilla nuts I look at on Amazon has a lot of reviews complaining about rust. I know you use black, but have you any issues with rust on the Gorilla nuts?

Check eBay for the gorilla part#'s. That's where I got mine.

This is not an endorsement of the seller ...
$68 - 24pc set of 66148FS
$67 - 20 pc set of 66148FS

PS: if you use an impact wrench on them with a standard socket they will get scratched down to bare metal and rust, but they are very durable so far.

Note: you may want to pick-up a non marring socket for use with them like this...

- Titan 21094 1/2-Inch Drive x 22mm Non-marring Impact Deep Lug Nut Socket
