I am installing this over the weekend. I just have the muffler. We will be welding it in place of the old one. I am getting help from someone who is asking me to get some pieces to bring with me. He is not sure what I will need. He isnt close to anything with parts so I am looking to you guys. Has anyone installed one of these on their 4th gen? What all did you need. I am assuming some extension pieces? Adapters? etc. Any help would be great. Cant wait to get it installed.

I would take it to an exhaust shop, pay $50-75 and have it done professionally with no headache...

All the shops here want at least 100$ to do it. The guy that is doing it has been building cars his whole life. He is in his 50's. He is a professional body guy, paint etc. But, he lives out in the middle of nowhere and hasnt seen the truck yet and what the layout of the pips are etc. So he asked me to get some things before I come out since there is no store by him.

I have a siso muffler, so don't know much about location, spacing, etc. of the sido ones, but I would just grab a couple swedged 6" pieces of 2.5", and a 6" piece of 3". Also, grab whatever length you would need to make up the difference for the OEM sido to your magnaflow sido.

OR roll under your truck, and take some measurements to figure out exactly what you would need.

Is your muffler 2.25 out or 2.5 out? I put the 3 inch piece of muffler up front into stock piping and made up the difference in 2.25 inch piping out the back. They were out of 3 inch where I went or would have went that route. Luckily my cousin had some flared 2.25 inch that slid right over the stock dual tail pipes.
Here is a link to a pic. Pain in the ass getting it to link here. More pics in my album of finished product.

This, I have the exact same muffler, had a guy tell me he could do it as his house. Ended up needing extra parts and welding. Took it to Midas and had it done for about $100, took them under an hour. I would just pay the little extra and save the headaches. Plus if he lives in the middle of nowhere your gonna end up paying for gas anyway.

This muffler sounds great, have it installed by a pro, the cost is negligible, the return is great.
