I thought the exhaust was 3" till after the muffler then with to 2.5"

The pipes going from the cat's to the y-pipe are 2.5" and they get smashed together to make a 3" pipe (Y-pipe) going to the muffler, then it's 2.5" leaving the muffler to the tips which are 4".
