Went over to a friend of the family's today, he's got his own paint shop on his property as his business. Even with the "family discount" I'm lookin at 3200 for rust repair and paint. So much for getting it done with this tax return...
It really sucks since 3 grand could go towards my engine or a lift so I figured I'd get on here to vent.

Honestly I may do that but I got a rust in the cab corners, the bottoms of the doors and the wheel wells on both sides...

That sounds like an awful lot to me.
It really wouldnt be hard to do yourself if you choose to go the bed liner route
I bet you and dave could easily make a few hours work of it if you are both working on it.
Cut out the old spots, weld in new panels and smooth them out to your best and throw liner over top.
Heck you could even get a pair of flares to cover the wheel liner and still be well under 2 grand I would think.

I'm figuring gas, patch panels material and time
If you have a welder you could probably do it yourself for under a grand

1,000 for a shop to do a rust repair and paint. I don't think you could get it done in little mexico for that!
Best off to buy a welder and learn to do it, or help a friend who has the stuff. :birgits_tiredcoffee
