They were the best and lowest cost option when I purchased. Well regarded in the forum. You may just want to call them.

Anyone know if it cost more the longer you wait? I have 1500 miles on my truck and was gonna get the service contract just before the factory bumper to bumper expired.

Yes, the price increases with age.

The price doesn't go up with age as long as you are under 48 months, even tho they say they 3 yr 36k point.

I got my lifetime maxcare @ 47 1/2 months and 13k miles....same price as if I had got it earlier. Cost me $2400 thru Clay Robbins.

One thing a lot of people need to remember.....the time frame starts from the in-service date...which is the day the truck is 1st sold...and may not be the day YOU get it.

READ YOUR PAPERWORK to see the specifics.

Also note there are a few benefits that it comes with that are only good for 7 years.

Roadside assistance and keyfob coverage for sure. Not sure about rental coverage.

They keyfob coverage is interesting because it states it will be covered even if the original part is missing (so, do you get a brand new keyfob if you told them you lost one?)

Good to know!

I bought my 16 truck and 16 car new. We recently hit 45k miles on the RAM and 25k miles on the Challenger. So, I sent Clay Robbins an email this morning requesting a quote for both. I saw there’s a 7 year unlimited mileage $100 deductible option floating around, but I didn’t know it started from the day of purchase.. From what I’ve seen online, it looks like this option literally cost just as much as the recently discontinued lifetime plan. If that’s the case I’ll forgo the plan this round. I’d hate to pay recent lifetime prices and essentially only get four more years. I’d be satisfied with seven extra years but not four. The chances I’ll drop $2700 ($5400 combined) in the next 48 months is a stretch.

BUT....on the set time versions, you can get your money back if not used...lifetime, you can't....so it's really not a loss if you never use it, and if you do, you're covered.

Make sure you check with Clay & make sure they haven't changed it......

You are absolutely correct on the pricing of November 2018 for the Maxcare Lifetime Warranty. Clay Robbins had the lowest price of the 3 sellers I contacted and quoted me a price of $2875 for the lifetime plan with a $100 deductible.

Here’s my convo with Clay for 7y unlimited mile plan.
B0A75903-1711-4133-A2BB-9DE55992EF12.jpeg

Here I asked how much the 8 year / 125k mile plan would run for each vehicle.

50925FB9-006C-41EA-8643-22808AB0A8C2.jpeg A838B1AB-B7C3-4BEB-AE42-C8B375A49B65.jpeg 2907CE4D-3923-4306-B6BA-1726F9285AF4.jpeg

By comparison, those who took advantage of the lifetime plan got a screaming deal! My truck should hit 125k by year 7, and my car will only have around 100k by year 8. Also, by Clay’s response you can only be refunded IF you go with a set mileage plan, AND it will cost an extra fee of $250 per vehicle for that possibility. Any leftover money with the 7y unlimited mileage plan is gone forever.

So if I bought the 8y plans I’d be all in at $5185 to cover each vehicle to 125k miles during that time. In my experience I’ve never had to drop that kind of money on HEMI’s with only 125k, much less at 100k, knock on wood. The big jobs have usually hit me after 125k miles. Mind you I’m dividing the cost per vehicle. If unlimited mileage was still available it would be a no brainer. If they had made substantial cuts on their set mile plans it would be enticing. I understand I’d get all of my money back minus the $250 ($500 combined) refund kicker, but I’m still having a hard time justifying the plung knowing I could have purchased unlimited for the same price. I hate the insurance and warranty racket until I need it LOL.

So, they haven't changed it much at all......I'd give up 250 to get back 2250 on the Ram.

I hear what you are saying....but have you priced a complete transmission rebuild/replacement ?? My 96 cherokee was 2400 bucks, and that is an old as crap vehicle......

Engine, transmission, and the multitude of electronics is why I went lifetime with mine. If I never use it, I am out all that money...period. And considering I am at 7 yrs old and not quite 28k on it, I'll likely never need it.

And on the " I could have" thing......hindsight is always 20/20................if I had invested the 100k worth of bonuses I got when in the military in walmart or amazon or google or apple or microsoft, I'd have never had to work again.....................but I blew it all like 95% of people do.

Just think...100K worth of todays high value stock purchased 20+ yrs ago.......man........

One benefit to the non-lifetime plans is I believe they are transferable to another owner ($50 fee or something like that). My lifetime is just mine. Also, don't do a lot of mods or you will have trouble if/when you need the warranty. Ram is a PITA and will try everything to deny a big claim.

I think with the Lifetime there is a pro-rated refund up to the first 7 years, not sure how much it is (maybe its similar to how the 7 year plans are refunded?)

After 7 years there is no form of refund. Im guessing its not much anyway but have never inquired.

I keep my vehicles so long, the lifetime was the only one I would buy. Either none at all, or lifetime. I went with lifetime because like a lot of people have said...the stuff in these trucks cost so much to fix. Its still a gamble, of course, but 9 or 10 years from now when I still have the truck and something goes wrong.....

Yeah, but it came to like 25 bucks if I asked for it 1 month after I got it......remember, these things start at the in-service date.....so I got my lifetime @ ~4 yrs old, and the refund period was 7 yrs, so I was already over 60% of the way thru the refund periods life the day I signed the contract for it.

If you can get a refund for unused warranty, it’s great - and the vehicle has probably held up well.

On the other hand, I wanted protection from major out of pocket cost. Keeping my vehicles as long as I expect to, there really isn’t a reason I should expect to need another truck for a long, long time.

I am sure over the years, The needs of my vehicle will far exceed the cost of the warranty.

On the other hand, if you expect to get rid of the vehicle @100k - you may not need it.

I called and Zeigler really only deals with vehicles under 48k mi. Since I have 54k they want almost 4K for pretty much what the mopar direct wants for 2700 so I went with them. Mopar direct factors in the existing cpo warranty I already have so they can give lower price.
