Max Tires Size for Stock 1500

295/50/20 with 2" Frnt lift and love them. UHP tires, but more for looks. I dont plow or any heavy cargo, but great tread pattern and looks.

can't even imagine on the price of those! in canada, the best route seems to be to go 285 60 20 as an option. anything else is insane. i can't even find your size at 2 of the places i'd get my tires from as an option. i did find 295 60 20's i think it was and they were like 450 apiece canadian versus 250 apiece for the 275 60 20s.

Dam that's horrible. Like anything it has to work for you, but lots of good feedback and I agree go the 285 and will still look great. Good luck and post an update pic

yep likely when i switch out i will go with the 285 60 20s. i will be kicking myself if i went stock to save 300 bucks in the grand scheme of things. but 800 to 1000? too expensive an option.

2" Rough Country leveling kit. 20" Fuel Warrior rims. 35" Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ P3 tires. No lift. Part of wheel well cut out for clearance. No rubbing at all.

I put Bilstein 5100s set at 2.1 on my truck, basically leveled the truck and allows for bigger tires.

There is a great guide on here for max tire size, but I just today put a set of Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLTs on my truck and I love the look. I didn't want to have to worry about wheel rub or anything so I went with a tire that was taller, but not wider. I got 275/65r20s and I really like the look. Thought about the Cooper Discoverer Maxx but I don't need that aggressive of a tread. This was a great combo of looks and practicality for me.

Absolutely fabulous looking mod to your truck. I simply had to thank you for this information as it costs way too much to lift a truck and this seems a great medium as I can see the ride height increase and therefore the better view from higher up....my objective. The tires are seemingly wider and this adds to the overall lovely look. Good for you sir!

Funny you should post this. I was crawling around under my 2017 Sport yesterday and checked wheel well clearance. The fronts are tight, not much room to spare, so the OEM tires are 11 inches wide and 33 inches high (diameter) and Ill stick with them, but there is a good two inches of clearance in the rears on the inner side and about 1 inch of extra space between the edge of the tires and the body. So I might try either 305/50 in the rear or either the 285/55 or 295/60, each of which are 11.7 inches wide. The OEM rims are 20x9 by the way, not sure about the offset.
The 285/55 is 32.3 inches in diameter, just under the 33 inch diameter of stock tires and the 295/60 is 33.9 inches in diameter, or almost an inch taller (or 1/2 inch from rim to tread). Since Im looking for performance and doing 2/4 drop, Ill probably go with a Michellin Defender which is slight less high and is an all season performance tire. But they are big bucks, like $320 each. And to do it right, you should be chipped with ability to edit the tire size of your tires otherwise your odometer and speedometer will not be correctly calibrated. Call a tech at the tire rack, they can help you pick out whatever tire you are looking for. But they wont know the offset or clearance. Good luck.

Hello there -

I am new here, and looking for some help buying tires.

I have a 2015 RAM 1500 and love it. It has the Mopar Performance Exhaust, Mopar CAT, tinted all around and blacked out, and has a 3.92 rear end. I do not have any sort of lift kit installed, and because my manhood resides in my wife's purse at this time, I will not be lifting it... maybe too much info there (sorry!)

I currently have Michlin Defender LTX M/S's in a 275 60R20, and I didn't care for their performance during the winter months in the snow and slop. I have been thinking about trying to go to a 285 65R20 if possible. Many of the people I have spoken to, suspect they wouldn't fit well without raising the truck. Any suggestions for me? Some of the tires I was considering were (in no particular order):

Bf Goodrich KO2's (most tell me they'd ride poorly thiugh)though

Falken's

Nitto Terra

I would love to get my truck a bit higher (if possible) without a lift kit. I want a more aggressive tire too. I would love to read what some of you think. Thx in advance

might want to look at 8 ply cooper tires

Well I'm gutless!!

I ended up staying with the same size tire. I just ordered 4 Nitto Terra G2 XL 116S in a 275 60R20. I will take them to my guy to install when they arrive next week.

I almost got the 65's but they would have cost me another $300. I got spooked off the shocks because I was afraid my backside would sag (and I know I won't be adding bags). It just seemed like the best move for me at this time.

Had my tires installed last night. Got an alignment, too. Love em so far. Hoping they provide good traction in the snow and rain.
