It's on,unless you manually shut it off with either the shifter buttons,or if you have a 5th Gen pressing the tow/hual button2020 ram 5.7 how do i turn on the mds any knowledge would be appreciated
This is the answer. I've been doing it for just about 5 years now. You get used to it. No need to spend the time or $$$ for a tune when it can be done for free in five seconds at the start of the trip.In the meantime, pressing the steering wheel buttons for +/- will disable it too, but you have to redo it each time you put the truck in Drive.
I suspect you mean to turn it off. For a quick and dirty solution, you'll need to do a simple tune using an HP Tuner with 2x credits (which also disables the variable valve cam timing (VVT). To do it right, you'll also need to yank the MDS solenoids under the intake manifold and replace them with plugs. Now it's gone forever and doesn't affect your VVT!
Deleting MDS with HP doesn't disable VVT.If you unplugged the harness at the back of the intake that goes to the mds and vvt solenoids ,then you've killed the vvt,but if you leave it plugged in and connected to the vvt solenoid, and just unplug the mds solenoids from the harness ,then vvt should still be operationalI suspect you mean to turn it off.
