A fool and their money...

I guess if one has too much money and nothing else to do, this can be expected.

Dodge anyone see that very ugly green Dodge Daytona that sold at 3 Million Dollars

I don't think it had much of a providence

some person ordered it with almost everything in the catalog

Looks like mecum has sold that car twice now. Went for 2 million cheaper in 2022. So big profits for mecum with 2 huge commisions and a good investment for the last owner. If you're rich enough these cars are looked at like stock investments, but you get something cool to keep around for a while while you watch the market. If your portfolio moves up and down by hundreds of thousands or even millions a day these things are like penny stocks that they have more fun with.

My next door neighbor has one of these sitting in his garage. His dad bought it when Hertz sold them, and he got it when his dad passed. He used to drive it all the time in the early 70's. It still runs and drives well.

It's all original with one factory style repaint many years ago. It's not restored, but is in very good original condition for its age. I have no idea what his intensions are for it, as he's a little older than me, and has no one to pass it on to, as far as I know.

It would go well at auction as a survivor.

This auction craze has ruined the collector car hobby for most. It has become rich man's tiddly winks. Like trading baseball cards as a kid.
Lol. The 1% version of pokemon cards

One thing that the announcers mentions several times, was that once a HIGH DOLLAR vehicle, becomes a Mid Priced Collector Vehicle, is when X amount of Miles is on the Odometer

While I wouldn't pay collector car prices for "any" car, I could name a few thousand other cars I'd call "undesirable" over a wing car. While it's true they couldn't give some of them away...... Who's laughing now! I personally laughed at a car lot wanting $3500 for one back in 1981, I'm not laughing now!

Buddy sent me that, I've seen some crazy wing car sales but I don't think I've ever seen one close to that. I love how no one wanted them so much that some dealers stripped the bits off and made them look like their regular counterparts just to get rid of them lol.
