I recently installed a front replacement metal bumper on my 1500. It weighs approximately 170-180 pounds. I have a 6" Zone lift.

My question is, will it, and how will it affect the front end? Will I have ball joint issues, tie rod issues, and what can I do to strengthen the front end?

Thanks.

The weight should not be too much of a problem. What bumper did you go with???

I went with the Iron Cross full metal bumper with the bull nose. I'm In Canada, and not too many manufacturers or companies ship bumpers up here, so I went with a local shop that carry them.

A friend of mine has an Iron Cross bumper. He has not had any problems related to the weight of it at all. He did add a 6 ton Warn winch and several offroad lights to it. Kinda makes me jealous that I have a 2wd instead of a 4wd. I miss out on some of the cool goodies that look killer on the 4wd trucks and just stupid on the 2wd ones.

So far I'm very happy with it. I have a winch also buy didn't install it up front. I have it on a winch cradle that attaches to the rear receiver hitch. My next big thing will be off road lights. I guess your next truck will be a 4x4......

I don't think you'll have any issues, the front might be a tad lower than before after some time but I think that's all you'll have to worry about
