Hi all...I have 3 kids....they hate to go in my truck anywhere...2018 2500...due to the middle rear seat having only the tiny headrest. has anyone figured out a way to remedy this? I understand it is small for rear view sight. however, I am primarily looking for something that could be swapped in just while someone is in the middle seat. Thanks!

Have you checked to see if the pillars are the same size/distance as the outer headrests? If so, them you could buy another and put it in.

I know the front headrests are swappable with the back. Maybe you'll find they are all the same size and interchangeable.

On both my current truck ('19) and my previous truck ('14) they are not the same. The middle headrest posts are narrower than the outside posts. I tried doing that too because of my special needs son.

Maybe take a measurement and pay a visit to a junk yard to check out some cars with narrower but taller headrests. I might try that myself when they open back up.

Don't worry about if the headrest "blocks" some the the rearview, if you use the rearview mirror for anything other than seeing what in the bed or your back seat your setting yourself up for failure.
I would figure out if it was possible to put the padding/covering from one of the regular sized headrest on the center mounting posts.

Not a bad idea, there is also a tight ledge of sorts back there. Might be able to just friction fit a cushion or pad behind the headrest if hitting your head on the glass is the issue.

OP, have you tried just raising the little headrest that is there? I don't remember how far it adjusts...

Get the headrests out of a 2012 ram, perfect size,I put a 2012 Laramie rear seat in mine and was pleasantly surprised at the 3 headrests size.Quad cab,I had a 2016 crew cab seat in there and headrests were massive, same size as my stock ones, way to big.
