I found this 06 1500 5.7 qcsb 3.92’s for sale and thinking about buying, but in the pic of the cluster, it looks like it’s running but the tach isn’t working and the oil pressure is very high, not sure what’s going on with it. I’ll be driving over there on Monday to check it out. I’ll be paying cash so I’ll be able to get it for a decent amount less. Any thoughts, comments, concerns are welcomed and appreciated.

For a 12 y/o truck it looks like it was taken care of ! As for the gauges I would guess the key was on motor not running ! BUT that is a guess and it would be a RAM to look at. Then As mentioned I would have a mechanic look it over ! also have the dealer get you a Car Fax report, It may shed more info good or bad ! But I would want a test ride for sure Good luck and keep us posted !

I’m pretty sure it was running because the oil pressure gauge only reads when a vehicle is running, and it does have a car fax that shows 7, yeah, 7 owners, that’s a big red flag for me. I can borrow an Autel maxisys elite from a friend to check it out but that 7 owner thing bothers me. Thnx for the input though.

Yea 7 owners is also a BIG RED FLAG for me as well ! 11 y/o 7 owners is a avg ownership of less the 1.7 years each ! And my question is WHY 7 owners LO

Looks like a nice truck, but the 7 owners would scare me. Where a number of those in very close proximity? Could have been some paperwork muddling of sorts?

There’s a lot of muddling going on with that truck, not sure if the previous owners were in close proximity or not, it doesn’t show, it also says it’s a long bed, witch it’s not, and it says it has 17” wheels, witch it doesn’t, so idk what to think is going on but I’ll find out tomorrow when I take a ride over there. They say to call before I come, why? So they can warm it up and not let me hear it cold start, hmmm! definitely won’t be calling before I go!

I'll have a set of those for sale (the ones actually on my truck right now) in the not too distant future, finally found a set of polished ones that I didn't have to give up a body part for.

I have a StarScan if needed, I haven't made the trip up to NJ (spend a lot of time between Williamstown and Somers Point) in a while because of the new house but I can pop up pretty easily.

****, I couldn't use them even if I wanted to lol. Won't clear the SRT brakes, at minimum gotta have factory spec 20x9's. I got set of the 4th gen polished 5 spokes from a guy on another forum who turned out to be local. These were the ones I originally wanted but everyone wanted a damn internal organ in price.

Update: well went to check it out, first the guy with a very deep non understandable voice salesman said everything works like new, yeah ok! The tach is broken, the oil gauge is pinned, it crab walks down the road, the frame is rusted through in places, the engine sounds like it has marbles in the oil pan, no thanks. As I was walking away,he threw an offer at me of 3500$, still not worth it to me. He also tried lying about the 7 owners, saying it was a two owner truck, I asked to see the title and showed him the prefix says 7, he still tried bull ****tin me. Not gonna happen, I told him I’ll give him a grand that’s it, he laughed, I left, I hate lying salesman with a passion, even when I proved him wrong, he still tried bs’in me lol.

@HemiLonestar, After the initial peak of the truck, if I left a deposit then I would have asked for your assistance but I didn’t want to waste your time on something that I had no idea what shape it was in. I’m still looking for a 5.7 though so I will gladly request your help.
