my 2013 ram has the power fold, heated mirrors, with integrated blinkers built in, along with the led courtesy lights on the bottom which illuminate when you open and close the doors at night, same when you lock and unlock the truck.

problem is the courtesy lights no longer illuminate...i noticed one night they do not light up. what the heck, over?

when i installed the magnaflow cat back exhaust thanksgiving morning, i first unhooked the negative battery cable while i did the install, and 2 hours later i was all done, hooked the battery back up, and I noticed later that night or the night after that the courtesy lights are inoperable...everything else works, the blinkers in the mirrors, power fold, and the defrost but not these courtesy lights...

what could it be?

who else has these lights on their ram?

I have these lights too. The option to turn the puddle lights on/off is in the radio settings. By disconnecting the negative battery terminal you may have returned those settings their default. Keep in mind they won't illuminate if the mirrors are folded in. Hope this helps!

I had this problem after a trip to the dealer. I noticed the puddle lights were no longer working and called them to ask what they did. They claimed they didn't touch the lights which I thought was weird since I knew they had worked before. Couple nights later, I had the mirrors pulled in, using the button, and got to thinking. I had noticed at the dealer the tech just pulled my mirrors back out without using the button. Since my mirrors at this point were folded in, I pulled them back out manually, without the button. After I did this the puddle lights started working again.

Like the previous posted stated, the puddle lights don't work when folded in. I am only guessing, but there must be a sensor to tell the lights when the mirrors are folded in and if you pull them back out without using the button the sensor thinks the mirrors are still folded in. Like I said, this is a guess based on what I experienced.

Man am I glad I found this thread. Mine went on my 2014 and I couldn't get them to function again. Tried everything. Read this thread and moved the lights in and out with the button and viola they work!

LOL. I fixed this issue, pretty simple...but good Lord, it drove me nuts, and just by chance I tried this simple little trick...

What worked for me was pushing the power folding button, and they magically worked again. After all this time... LOL

Thanks you guys!
