I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 hemi with 160,000 miles. About a month ago it started to misfire. The codes were P0300 – random/multiple misfires detected and P0302 cylinder 2 misfire. I only notice it when It is idling or when I am at a stop light. I changed all the plugs and the ignition coil on cylinder 2. I also brought it to my mechanic and told them not to rack up too much of a bill. They tested the ignition system, compression and fuel injectors tested good. They believed it to be carbon be carbon build up on valves so they performed BG service. My exhaust also smells gassy. I know how to turn a wrench but I am definitely not a mechanic. Any help would be much appreciated.
