So I have noticed that Ram seems to be missing a lot of the Basic things that seem to be standard now day such as Rear window defrost, self dimming rear view mirror, even the auto windows down feature from the key fob on the 15s(I want that). My last vehicle was a 2015 Jeep grand Cherokee and it had a ton more features for about 10000 less than I payed for my new 2018 1500 quad cab. But anyways I want to add a homelink receiver to my truck I saw they sell the units on mopar websites for about 200 a pop. Question one are we sure all the wiring is in my truck is should be plug and play right? Secondly does that part come with the new faceplate because mine does not a have a section to remove to install the electronics its a solid piece? Any help would be great! Thanks guys.

Since your truck already has the overhead console it's a plug and play install. The CV2 sales code is already added to your truck in order for it to function. I personally would not buy a new one. Most of this have been able to find them pretty reasonable out of wrecking yards or eBay. You just need to make sure it's for a 2013 or newer. If you decide to buy a new unit then yes you would need to buy the complete overhead console so it has the cut out for the homelink buttons. Also check car-part.com. It's a website that multiple wrecking yards list parts on and you can find really good deals there. If you find one car-part.com make sure there is a picture of what you are buying to make sure it is listed correctly. They do make mistakes on occasion. Also you can add the window down feature and the auto dim rear view and pretty much any other feature you want. If your interested in doing more I suggest you check out the alpha OBD thread.

What everyone else said, eBay. I haven’t looked in a couple months, but when I got mine they were going from about $50-100 for the compete panel.
