My truck camper hit my Shark Antenna when I didn't see a big hole while offroad and broke it. The shark Antenna is part 68324469AA.

Can I just replace it with the puck style Antenna 68328996AA?

The pictures on moparpartsgiant.com look like the mounting may be different does any body know for sure.

I also think the puck is missing the Cellular antenna but since I don't use the wifi hot spot or any of the uconnect subscription features I don't think that would be an issue. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks for your help.

Yep, plug and play swap. I'd wrap the cell plug so you don't here it rattling around. The gasket is integral to the antenna so you won't need any additional parts.

Neither. AM/FM is the fender mounted whip antenna. Puck and Shark do Sat Radio and GPS. Shark adds Cellular.
My 2020 HD 2500 doesn’t have a whip antenna just the shark fin and the puck.

I didn’t realize what sub forum this was in as the 2019 and up HDs are 4.5 gen trucks (kinda a weird mix of 4th and 5th gen stuff).

Starting 2019, am/fm reception/antenna is integrated in shark fin also. I have a 19, and I do think integrating is lousy and a mast antenna mounted better, but just an opinion.

This, AM\FM is the white connection on the back of your radio

Off roading with a over head camper, has to be a Az thing. :laughing1:
BTW Does the camper not block off the reception? It does on my sat. radio if I am beside a tall building and usally in the garage, thou I think its more the overhead metal door shielding it when its up over the truck.

Never heard the "Go Anywhere, Camp Anywhere" motto for truck campers. Seriously I probably take it places I shouldn't which is the reason I got rid of my previous camper that had slide outs. Slide outs are just too fragile for Forest Service Roads.

Can't tell you for sure if the camper blocks the Sat radio. When the initial subscription expired I never bothered with it. Didn't even use it much when the subscription was active. I prefer the 20G of MP3 I have on the phone. Got less repeats than the Sat radio channels had when I did try it. My camper is fiberglass with no metal in the overhead I would not think it is too bad. I don't remember it being an issue but that was so last decade (2018-19) so can't be sure.

Never activated the WiFi service either. Saw it as a waste of money compared to just using my Cell Phone. Adding additional Cell data was cheaper and now with 5G faster than the truck being a hot spot plus putting it on the phone allowed me to use it when I wasn't around the truck. BTW: I have the same opinion of the built in Nav (which my truck doesn't have) Android auto works just as well and I don't have to worry about map updates.

I dropped sat radio a yrs or 2 , just don't drive enough to bother and listened to about 3 or 4 channels.
They where bribing me with $5.oo/ month for the last 3-4 yrs.
I have nav, but never up graded from 2014 or 15 , so some new stuff is not on it, but being a old farmer/red neck, I have never been lost, just takes a while sometimes. ;)
The phone is a old I 8 , so about next year I guess it will be out dated.
But then I am outdated as well its a good fit. I don't have much on it.

Last year while out at the lake, I seen a fellow with a rig like yours pulled into a little parking lot under some big old trees and left the AC and vent lids behind.

That depends on WHICH YEAR model Ram you have. Later rams do not have the “whip”….their Shark-Fins do triple-duty….AM/FM/SAT

Yeah a couple people pointed that out. Yet another reason to stay with my 18.

Pro-tip for SXM subscriptions. When they send you discount codes you can often get better prices by altering the code. So if they send you a 12FOR5 code (12 months at $5 a month) you can try something like 24FOR4 or 18FOR3 to get a better price. That's how I got my wife's subscription (24FOR6 after trial and error).

I figured up I would follow up on trimming down the shark fin. After some research I found that the fin was actually for the 4G cell antenna. Since I'm not paying for uconnect or wifi hot spot service I decided I didn't really care if it works. I also don't have XM turned on and truck didn't include nav so I was really just looking at a cheap and easy way to not have a leak. Since my shark tooth antenna had been damaged I decided to just cut the fin off and then seal it it up. Once I cut the shark tooth off you could see the 4G antenna.
PXL_20260523_153005390.jpg

I decide I wanted to give it a bit or a chance to work in case it was used for the Emergancy Vehicle Notification so rather than just cutting the antenna off I folded it over to fit were the damage had already opened. After folding it over I used some DAP Ultra outdoor caulk in black to seal everything up. We'll see if it holds up. If not I'll just get the 68328996AA and not worry about having any cell connection.
