When I get my Ram 2500 Power Wagon (either that or a 2500 Big Horn Cummins, not sure which one yet) I will certainly want to do some mods.

What are some things that can get you to not pass an inspection? With a new vehicle I know you don't have to have it inspected for 4 years, but 4 years comes quick.

What about adding a light bar and lights. Light covers are a must, arent they?

I have a light bar with 4 lights. Inspection is no problem and in most states they probably don't care if they're covered or not..

Depends on local laws
Here you can only have 4 lamps illuminated at a time
Doesn't matter which ones when, only 4
They have to be spaced 16" apart as well

You can have "off road" lights
They are supposed to be covered but it's not really enforced
If the inspection station gives you a hard time about lights jus remove the switches and say they are only for looks

4 years!!!!!!!!!!!!! Must be nice lol texas is every year im not saying go to a crocked on that uses other peoples vin to pass but go to an inspection place like a muffler shop or a non well known one those to me at least appreciate more a custom vehicle and will help you out unless its endangering you or other drivers

I actually have a customer that was harrassed by an inspection shop for not having covers on his lights. His solution was to cut up a piece of cardboard in 8" circles and he taped it onto the face of the lights, drove back to the shop, got his sticker, and then pulled the cardboard back off. Doesnt matter what you use to cover them with as long as they are covered when you roll into the shop. Even then, it would take a very picky inspection shop to even mention this though.

Otherwise, only other mods that will give you a hard time is if you remove your cats, or tint your headlights and taillights. Also, make sure your window tint is legal because they will get you for that as well.

Here in VA, if they are on the vehicle, they MUST work. And offroad lights MUST be covered to pass, as well as work when uncovered.

I didn't realize some states don't even have inspections. Man, that is really cool.

I gotta move!

No inspections in Ohio either, and emissions testing is dependent on the county. But really, look into your local laws. All your profile says is Northeast US. Could be any number of states with varying laws.

When I was stationed in NC, I had 5% TINT ON all windows, and tinted tails, passed inspection just fine, and when I was stationed in VA with the same vehicle....no issues. My current truck now has 15% tint, and tinted tails, and can still pass inspection...all depends on who is inspecting ur vehicle. Most of the guys are too bust admiring my truck to give a sh*t bout the illeagal stuff...lol A few agressive, powerful revs can go a long way.

Well we'd need some sound clips to verify that hahaha. Guessing you were stationed at bragg? Inspectors here are **** about everything... Even the so called "hole in the wall" places. They still wouldn't pass me for my tint. I have 3 coats of nightshade and clear on my tails and I've always passed.
