Has anyone put pod lights where the tow hooks are? I have taken the hooks out but now it looks like I'm gonna need to add metal to bolt them to.

Several people have. Try out the search function, you will find multiple threads, some even dedicated tot he fog light holes and light pods.

I have my bumper inserts I replaced with tow hooks and cut outs for the bumper. Yours if you want them....

I was looking into this option for quite some time. Problem is, most pods are to thick to fit back there. And if you want it to be somewhat flush looking, you need to probably go with 9" bars. Many have attached flush mount leds in the plastic inserts, but I personally don't recall seeing anyone put pods in there
