I will take a look in Georgia. Any recommended dealers???

Bought my last vehicle in Alpheretta. (sp)
Flew from Detroit, lay over in NC, and landed in Atlanta around noon.
Took a train from Atlanta to Alpharetta and the salesman picked me up.
Bought the car and was out the door at 3:30pm.
Drove 750 miles back home only stopping for gas. Talk about a VERY long 24 hours. I barely made it. Got my second wind on I-75 around Lima Ohio and pushed all the way home.

Awesome!!! The drive itself isn't too bad but man, your trip was indeed a LONG day! My 'ol man and me made a trip from Atl to East Lansing to move my sister after she graduated from Cooley.............didn't realize we were driving THAT far north, felt like we were almost in Canada!

As for recommendations, the dealerships I've seen with a decent inventory & advertised prices (read, not necessarily the BEST prices) are Ed Volyes which was the link in my previous post or Palmer Dodge which is in Roswell/Alpharetta and might be the one you purchased from previously.

If your somewhat open to regearing, than just get the truck you want regardless of gears. When you put bigger tires on it you may find out you want 4.56s. Changing gears from 3.73 to 4.10 isn't really worth the cost

I was talking to my dealer about swapping to 4.56 from my 3.73 and he told me it wasn't available. And if I wanted to go to the 4.10s it would be $3400!!!

Yikes.... Now, I know the 4.56s are out there and I think at least one poster on here has them. It's entirely possible my dealer is just a bonehead.

And OP, I feel your pain... I looked for the 4.10s too and finally just gave up. It sucks to either pay ridiculous money for the small jump to the 4.10s or to void some parts of my warranty to go 4.56. When talking to the service guy he said lot's of stuff could be voided by the 4.56s due to it not being a stock gear. Ironically, I was in there with a blown transmission and he said that could be voided with new non-stock gears.

Again, dealer could just be lost and I would fight like hell if they tried to deny me a tranny claim based on gears. But, it just sucks it's setup this way.

Thanks for all the replies. I have started to expand my search. The odd thing.... You guys are right...
the further south I look (from Michigan) the more trucks with 4.10 gears I find. I wonder why? Appalachian and Smokey mts? I think it may be that the folks in the south are a bit smarter than us Yanks!! :) I have a few trucks bookmarked now and am going to keep my eye on them (all out of state). I think I will continue to look until the 4th of July... Then, I plan on pulling the trigger on something. Just need to start calling dealers and have them give me a "make me fly/drive from Michigan" price.

I am still curious about the 2017's though.
- When can you order?
- What changes are being made?
- Why a few month out, is the RAM lineup such a huge secret?

Ha ha ha... Yep. Canada is a short 40 mile drive east or south of me!! Sarnia is East and Windsor is south.

You should take a trip up the Michigan's upper Peninsuala (UP). You will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Almost as if westward expansion completely passed it by. Go up there hunting twice a year. Awesome country especially near Marquette and Houghton.

Love Michigan, but it sucks to be on a peninsula when you are looking for a new truck. Takes me about 2 hours just to get to the Ohio line.

aside from the powerwagon getting a small facelift, i wouldnt expect any major changes to the HD lineup for 2017 if thats what your asking. how soon are you looking to get the truck? if you wanted to special order a 2017 you may be waiting a while to get it.

I would be willing to wait until Fall/early winter to get the truck if I knew exactly what the 2017's will look like, pricing, and option packages (historically, when is this info released???). But right now I have no clue. I am in no rush, however, don't want to miss out on a good deal for a 16 especially if the 17's are all going to have the new style grill and Huge RAM tailgate lettering. I wish I knew. Would make my decision a bit easier as I feel like I need to rush a bit to get a 2016 with the options I want before they are picked over.

I really like the PW Tradesman but I do not like the updates for 2017. I do not like the tire tread seats, grill, or the badging. And, based on my reading, it doesn't look like they are going to offer the traditional trim levels for the 2017 wagon. I have read that there will be 3 trim levels and one with a leather option. Not sure how accurate this is or if the tradesman will even be an option for the PW...

Others that know more than me will.chime in, but if I were to re-gear from 3.73 I wouldn't stop at 4.10. I tow all the time with mine and I wish it had 4.88s lol. I could be wrong but I think going to 4.10 would only up your revs around 200 - 250 rpm. Is that enough to make a ton of difference in a high reving small block?

If you do find one you like minus gears. Nitro gear has complete sets for front and rear with all needed to install them for just under $1500. Then comes the labor.

I wouldn't even consider a gas 2500 without the 4.10 option. I'm planning on 4.88 later this year or next.
