Looking at new cell phones and I'm thinking I will get the Moto X and I have 8.4an radio in my RAM. With all the little glitches I was wondering if anyone has this phone and uses it with their truck? Any problems? Currently I have the Motorola Defy but its got its own issues. 99% of the time its fine but every now and then the two don't play nice together. Just did not want something else the would add to my frustration.

I just bought a Moto X, however I do not have the 8.4AN...(I have the 8.4A).

The pairing is perfect on mine. Texts, phone calls, phone book...etc all work flawlessly.

*I have not tried to stream music or anything from the phone to the trucks audio system so I can't comment on that.

By the way, the Moto x is a great phone (I came from a Droid 2). I am extremely happy with it.

Cool thanks alot, not worried about music just one more thing to suck the battery life down on the phone. I use a SD card and just leave it in the truck so its always ready to go. Nice to know text and all that work. My text do not work with my Defy currently, so that will be a nice change. Now just got to wait till the 9th to compare bills and see if I go back to ATT or stay with Republic.

One other question about the Moto X you seem to like it. How long did you have your Droid, 1, 2, or more years. I could tell the when I got my Defy it would not be a phone to keep for more than a year. But for $470 for the phone and 1 year of service with unlimited everything its been good enough.

What is your impression of the Moto X, is it a phone worth signing a two year contract on? Or will it seem slow after a while.

If I stay with Republic I'm looking at: (Unlimited everything but only 3G data and no contract)
Phone 300-100 rebate=$200
service plus tax 28 a month x1yr 12= $336 or x2yr 24= $672
Total 1yr= $536 or 2yr= $872 (self imposed contract to get my moneys worth)

If I go back to ATT I'm looking at: (Unlimited calling but only 6gb{should be enough) of 4G data shared between 4 phones)
Phone + other charges =$88
service plus tax $44 a month x2yr 24 contract = $1,056
Total 2yr= $1,144 (If ATTs guess is right, cant tell me for sure to many changes the last few months on that account, Wife, Mom, and sister could not wait for upgrades)

Republic $184 cheaper for 2 years which breaks down to about $8 month difference, for $8 faster data and more Cell coverage, but with republic I have full service any where there is WIFI also. Now I just need to decide...

I'm with Verizon

I had my Droid 2 for waaaay to long ( > 3 years)

I've only had this phone for about a month.

I think the Moto X is going to be a great phone. It's very fast with the 4G network and can run multiple apps easily. The camera and video recorder are great and there are several features of the phone that are very useful such as:

- A "Siri" like function where you can talk to/ ask the phone for different things.

- Being able to sync the phone with your sleeping schedule so that it doesn't beep/ring/or vibrate unless it's someone you allow to reach you (Perfect for me who works 3rd shift and weekends)

-View emails/messages without having to unlock or wake up the phone

-It will automatically detect wifi networks and once you use a certain network, it will save that network. So if you have wifi at home and leave, the phone will switch to your cell service. Once you return home though, the phone will automatically switch from cell service to your wifi. I think my phone has several different networks saved so far (my home, my work, my parents house, and I'm guessing that if I used the Ram's wifi, it would probably save that too) which saves me a lot on my data limits.

*(some of these features are probably standard on many phones today but since I'm coming from a 3 year old phone, I'm impressed with them on the Moto X)*

The only thing I've found I don't like about the phone is the stock ringtones and notification sounds it comes with.

Aside from that, call quality, speed, function, battery life, etc has been great.
