Will a 360 out of a 2000 model pick up be any different than the 360 in my new style pick up?
I have a 2002 3rd gen 1500

I swapped an engine a couple years ago. Same VIN digit but one year newer. The long block was the same. The fuel injection was completely different and several of the connectors were different. It turned out ok because I was able to switch everything over from the blown motor but, a lot of extra work.

I believe the engine code is the 8th digit of your VIN.

Pretty sure the block and heads are the same. As TMyers mentioned, there may be differences in injector plugs, sensors, etc. Since I would NOT swap in a Mag engine without re-sealing the plenium plate, I would simply seal up the plenium on the old intake and use it, solving any potential fitment issues.

Thanks guys exactly what i thought some ***** at a scrap yard told me the coolant holes and motor mounts were completely different between a 2001 and 2002. I know the injectors and coolant sensors can vary but i have spare intakes for my truck and im swapping heads on whatever motor i get any way so no problem there. Thanks again!
