Well, as Paul Havery was want to say "...and now the rest of the story." (remember Paul Harvey..anyone?...Paul Harvey...radio guy...Paul Harvey?)

Jrod, I stopped at my local dealer parts connection (his name is also Paul, funny enough) , with pictures in hand, and said.."Hey,..what's the part # for these things?" He say."Hmmm the part number for your truck is this ..88215487AB -Deluxe Molded, Front W/O Fender Flairs,..but they do not look like yours...where did you get them?"

I tell him same story as I told you all here "Dealer installed at point of purchase, Jan 2017".

He calls the dealer I bought the truck from and relates the following.

"The part number of those flaps is #82208962AB and they are for older trucks than yours..model years ending in 2010 or 2011 or so. The vehicle prep guy at your dealer simply takes these old model flaps and does a mod to them to make them fit. They have to be notched out on the inside edge to fit the fender well contours of the inner fender area of the late model trucks. He's got a template he uses to do the trimming, which make the process near enough plug and play. "

He also said, I think, that he uses the same part number for both front and rear fitment. A quick google of the part number produce the attached picture.

So if you wish to go this route some "car crafting" is required.

Just looking at my pictures and truck again, ...you might only need to mod the front flap to fit,..there is nothing to obstruct the rear flap install that I can see.

Hope this helps.

I took close-up photos of the front and rear of the truck flaps again. You can see that the rear flaps are untouched in a modification sense..simply align and drill the holes to fit them to the "Wheel Spats" bolt locations.

The front flaps are indeed notched. See the truck photo...they fit behind the inner fender and other then a "U" shape notch to fit the lower fender area are fully intact other wise.

I photo shopped the parts picture to show how they are notched. This is by no means to scale at all,..it just gives you an idea of what was done.

Jrod, thanks for the idea..."I'll stop at my dealer on the way home." If you had not said that, I probably would not have stop at my dealer.

@TigreST That’s awesome! Thanks for the homework!! I’ve also been working it on my end and found these. Interestingly enough, I called my dealer with the part #s and he said the front are for a 2009-11 BUT also fit a 2018, so he said I should be able to make it work for my 16. Then he also verified the rear guards would work. The front on these look more notched than the ones you have.

@TigreST using the same flap makes sense on why you have the RAM logo both front and rear. It seems rubber sets only have the logo in the rear, so he must have used two sets of rear flaps on your truck.

Yep that is my understanding. I asked for “splash guards” and got them. I’ve only ever thought they were a factory bolt on. As I’ve said else where, I wanted them to keep the Wheel Spats, as I had seen on another RAM truck I’d seen at the dealer of purchase. At least we have another option if one should like this type of install.
