Ill be getting my exhaust soon but im still on the fence about paying extra for the mufflex kit or getting a weld on magnaflow from the local shop.

Im for sure going with the 18"

Wanted to ask if there will be performance given up on a weld on muffler versus the Mufflex kit and if any will it be significant enough to notice on performance/ MPG?

Also, ive heard a lot about the Y-pipe. Wanted to ask where in the exhaust is it placed? Will that y-pipe require a 2inlet/2outlet muffler? Anyone have pics with that ypipe in place? AND is it a "must do" muffler upgrade?

Thanks

Weld in is just fine. The Mufflex is just designed to be done at home and be easily reversible, there's no difference other than that.
The y pipe replaces the factory y pipe, it's located just downstream of the catalytic converters next to the passenger side of the transmission. It's definitely not a must do, I did mine and noticed absolutely nothing with the factory exhaust manifolds. If you plan to get short tube headers then I say replace the y pipe.

Y pipe is all about the bigger picture.. If you aren't doing headers and other performance mods, I wouldn't think you'd find value in the y pipe.

I agree with everything Tyler said. The only other thing I want to point out is that most shops will use aluminized steel instead of stainless. With the rest of the exhaust being stainless, its nice to know that the Mufflex will be completely stainless and will not rust.

Does that include the price of the muffler? If so, good deal. I paid that to have mine installed (in yuppieville).
