Yes weld the "y". The test of the exhaust should have a tack on the clamps.

Remember, we're in Alberta. I don't have to explain -40 to +35 weather and the effects of expansion/contraction to you.

For all your going to use it for, it seems a muffler swap would do the trick. Safe yourself some coin. Up to you.

Moe's is a good place to shop. I bought a tuner, intake, and ported TB from him and he only charged me $60 to ship it the Edmonton. No signature required. Another company wanted $139 to ship the same thing from Ontario.

See what Andy at Gotexhaust.com can do for you. Shipping is pricey to Canada. Even more so on a cat back system. Mine came in 2 big boxes.

I'm not really one to tell you what you should buy. Get all the info you can, then sound you like, and then decide what you want to do.

At the end of the day, your paying for it and only you have to live with it everyday.

Cool heywood!

Sounds like a muffler swap is just right for you. The stock exhaust other than the y pipe is actually pretty good for a non modified hemi as the hemi likes a little back pressure. There are many company that make direct muffler swaps so do some good research and find what's right for you. The direct bolts on that's I know of are pypes violators, Flowmaster 50 series, mufflex 14,18,24, and there delete and lastly solo performance makes a direct replacement muffler. There are probably others but just check them out. Lastly if you find a muffler you like any local show will do a muffler swap for reasonable I would just make sure it's stainless.

Be careful with the mbrp installer series exhaust systems. Mbrp sounds awesome and with the more expensive systems they make a great product. But the installer series is a aluminized system it's not stainless and I don't need to tell you what salt and moisture does to aluminized steel. It would be fine for me in texas but up in Canada i only give it a few years at best. The mufflex is stainless ready to go but won't be as loud as the mbrp as the cat back system removes the resonators, so if your going mufflex and want it loud you should consider the 14in or the 18 with resonators removed to bring the volume up to the mbrp level.

I would also say consider the Mufflex delete or 14, the 18 is going to be almost as quiet as stock. I ran the 14 and enjoyed it, had a decent rumble, but ended up swapping that for the delete and I would never go back....I was REALLY iffy at first, afraid it was going to sound like garbage or be REALLY bad with drone, but I am very pleased with it....it screams outside when you get on it, has a nice rumble inside, but if you want to go easy its nice and quiet on the highway...barely any drone at all.

Im still somewhat a noobie to modding my ram but wat exactly is the mufflex delete compared to the 14 mufflex?

Mufflex delete replaces the stock muffler with a straight pipe. Ties in at the factory muffler location, clamps to the 3" lines and splits off.

14" mufflex has a 14" magnaflow muffler.

Like Doz said, muffler delete just replaces the OEM muffler with a straight pipe section, half hour install. With the 2 resonators on the back near the tips, the muffler delete is the PERFECT volume IMO

Other than tone that you get from a delete, any disadvantages from not having a muffler but justa straight pipe then?
