Are the stock mufflers clamped on? It looks like it, but not 100% sure.

Through the years I had welded from the cats back which was great for no leaks, but a PITA if you wanted to drop the exhaust to do a bunch of work. My last 2 setups have been slip fit for the most part and my current one is complete slip fit and makes removing it a breeze.
Before putting on the 3 inch band clamps doing a test fit
Best part is got the stock pipe opened just a hair to slip on the bullet so from the back looks 100% stock even with the resonator. The pipe has been cleaned and painted black now.

I have kind of gone the other direction. When I first started modding my truck I always would clamp it. But the clamps always ended up leaking. Now I weld everything. No more leaks and if I need to get the exhaust out for some reason (like when I swap converters again soon) I just cut it off then weld it again when I am done.Through the years I had welded from the cats back which was great for no leaks, but a PITA if you wanted to drop the exhaust to do a bunch of work. Where you using the crappy clamps like pacesetter sell or wide stainless steel clamps? Knock on wood I havend had leaks with the 3" SS clamps with the 2 bolt hookup for the past 2 years. The only issue I have had with the clamps like that were in the first elbow on the driver side because of the bend so thats my only welded section.
