I just installed the 14 on my 2013 ram 1500 and I love it. It is loud when I go wot but other than that it has a nice rumble. It was pretty easy to install, only took my buddy and me about 3 hours with beer breaks.

Congrats on the 14, glad you like it!

I installed the 24" a couple of weeks ago. Was looking for a non-chambered with a little deeper tone than stock. Its louder in the cab than I thought it would be, but never gets raspy. Has a nice tone at idle and on the throttle. Sounds great at speed, virtually no drone until the mds kicks in. Then it sounds like an old diesel ~ not that great.

Kind of wishing I'd gone with the borla cat-back now, but I'll probly run this one till I get the rest of my mods done.

I have a 14 Magnaflow, but not the mufflex. It is much cheaper to buy the muffler and have a shop weld it in. Not to mention you don't have to worry about leaks like some members have complained about. You can also get a Magnaflow y pipe and have it welded in (getting rid if our crappy stock crushed pipes) and still be cheaper than a mufflex kit.

Either way you will love the sound over stock.

14" Mufflex, sounds great and if you don't mind a little drone here or there then its perfect. Did it in my driveway by myself in about an hour and a half with no leaks and can take out anytime I want to swap to something louder.

I think I'm gonna go with a Magnaflow Y and 18" magnaflow and have it all welded in. Not sure if this is helpful though haha

I also have the 18" magnaflow. I know it's not exactly the info you're looking for but I figure it can't hurt to post up here. I absolutely love it. It turns alot of heads, but doesn't cause a nuisance or create any complaints from the neighbors. Seems like the perfect balance between badass and practical lol. Just my 2 cents. Best of luck!

Getting the 14" and Y pipe we;ded in this am..I read for 2 weeks about the 14 or 18 and watched youtube vids like crazy with good earphones..I orginally was ordering the 18 but swapped to the 14 at the last min..Its gonna be you in the end that has to live with it so pick what you think you would like best...And be damn sure not to let the wife give you her two sense as ive done that before and lets just say i always ended up with the opposite of what i originally wanted because she said somthing to talk me out of it,And at the end of the day i always wish i would have told her to stick her opinion up her own *** lol....

Typically a muffler shop will use aluminized steel piping, not the stainless that the magnaflow and stock exhaust are made from. Five years from now your stock pipes and new muffler will be fine, but the aluminized crap may be full of holes. Errr, wholey unacceptable?! :(

I'm leanig toward the 24 myself. When you say loud in the cab are we talking open CAI loud, or just a rumble the radio can drown out? I want good sound out the tails, not roaring in the middle of my favorite song, or ballgame or gasp, conversation.

Radio can drown it out at about 70% volume. its not deafening, but noticeably louder over the stock muffler

Oops, taptalk sent before i was done. 70% volume with the cheapy factory stereo/non-nav. The kit sounds much better than stock.

I have the 18" Mufflex on my truck, seems like a perfect balance between a meaty V8 roar and nice relaxing cruising. I do a lot of highway time in the truck, and the only time I ever get drone is when MDS is on and only at certain RPMs. Definitely turns some heads when I put my foot down though

Don't mean to hijack, but quick question.

I also want to buy the Mufflex kit, but why are you purchasing a Y pipe? I thought for the Mufflex kit it was only a muffler/pipe swap? I'm looking at this one:

Dual Exhaust Aggressive - Mufflex Performance Store

Lastly, does anyone have a video that is taken with the same camera, same angle, comparing the different Mufflex kits on the same truck? It would make it a hell of a lot easier as some pipe deletes sound just like the moderate kits based on cameras, etc.

well i dont know if its a good example for you guys but im coming back to dodge after ten months of having a titan, had an 06 hemi qcsb prior, its exhaust is 2 cats in the manifold, 2cats on b pipes, i swapped to a borla pro xs 2.5 dual in to 3 out no resonators and there wasnt enough drone to bug me or the wife and kids so in reality the 14 with both resonators should be close to this as far as in cab drone or can you really hear it?

the y they are reffering to is the one where the 2 pipes from the manifold meet into one before the muffler

To me it drones at 65 quite a bit,But at 70 it's nothing horrible by any means..
I have a 5yr old and a 14month old and i don't see either of them complaining nor would I feel opposed to take our armada out instead of the ram..

I just installed the 14" mufflex on my ram tonight and I gotta say...it's friggin quiet! It has an awesome tone to it, but its not loud by any stretch o the imagination. I'm hoping it'll get a little louder after it breaks in.

Maybe I'm just use to noisy glasspacks or something.
