Little bit more done.

New spindle bearing and seals installed. New axle u-joints. Axles are in along with the caliper mounting bracket and spindles. I did end up ordering rotors.

Front bearings and seals will be here tomorrow (10/26). So in the next week I'll be able to get the hubs on. Going to throw the stock upper king pin spring and bushings in for now until I order the king pin eliminator kit.

Front rotors finally showed up after a month. Got them installed along with the rear bearings and seals. I went ahead and painted the non braking surfaces.

Couldn't help myself, ordered bearings/races and seals for the rear and a king pin eliminator kit so I can at least get the front hubs on.

Getting the driveshafts together. Apparently the front driveshaft is off of a Cherokee. But should work for now. Drag link installed and tie rods are "on" waiting for the new clamps to arrive. Hopefully soon.

Got the u joints in on both driveshafts. Didn't go as smooth as it should have and took way longer than it should have. Waiting on clamps for the tie rods. No idea when they'll be here thanks to usps. Can't find anything local.

Started working on wiring. Got the "body" harness cleaned up and retaped and some new wire loom on. Started on the engine side of the harness. Got about 1/2 through and ran out of tape and need bigger loom. Ended up ordering a new 12 pin connectors for the main body connector. It had a burnt pin. So instead of dealing with that just ordered a new weather proof male/female connector set. Plus it will give me an additional 3 slots if I need to add some circuits

Front driveshaft is in, new seals on front and rear outputs of the transfer case. New rear diff cover is on and painting the drums. Had planned on starting the rear brakes today but need some hardware and more parts (of course). And worked on getting the new connector wired up.

ATS spring hangers came in. So this weekend the rear axle will finally be back on the truck

86c03f150e6af1d4d7b351270fc76ee0.jpg

Though I had everything to get the rear brakes done, needed some parking brake hardware (not cheap) and the "pins" for the wheel cylinder. Those will hopefully be here by Friday. The last 2 sections of the parking brake won't be here until the end of the month. So it'll be a couple of weeks before it's finally a roller.

Front is finally back on wheels. And the rear is under it's own weight.

That is the issue I am having with starting this on my 99 that I am planning to restore with my son. Everything is so expensive and you have to do it or it will just come back to bite ya.

Great work. I sure wish I had the time and space to get started.

Your project is coming along great.
