Finally the rockers came in. Just about 3 weeks later

I've been debating on which direction I wanted to go with the body. A nice finished body, as "new" looking as possible or the patina aged old truck look. And yesterday made my mind up. This truck came up for sale a few months ago and and debated on asking about it. Finally 2 weeks ago I did. I still wasn't sure up until yesterday. For what it is I got a great deal on it.

It's a 1992 d150 5.2L 318. It's about as fully loaded as you can get. Power windows and locks, power mirrors, cruise control and tilt. And it's complete. So a lot of missing body/trim pieces I needed it has. Since my 90 is a LE and originally came with power windows and locks. All I have to do is reinstall the wiring harness for the doors.

It does need a little body work to cut out some bad spots but luckily the bad spots on this truck are were the only good spots on the 90 and the other 92.

These floors are killing me. Not having a brake and having to bend odd curves with whatever I can find is really sucking up the time. I've got about 6-8 hour's in the 2 pieces I've made. I'm trying to retain as much of the original form as possible.

Delivery 1 of many came in today


Upper rad hoses. Switching to a later style rad. Ordered 91-93 and a 94-97/98. Not sure what hose will work best.

Replacement passenger window motor

Borgeson steering shaft and rag joint

Amsoil gear oil

I did get the inner rocker in yesterday. Today I put a couple spot welds on the inner/outer rockers. Didn't want to fully spot weld it in until I get the cab back on the frame and doors on incase I need to tweak it. Upper body mount is tacked in.

Body mounts
Engine mounts
Brake proportioning valve
Diaphragm for the injection pump

And both cab mounts welded in. Bottom mount took some modifying along with some modification to the cab to fit. The width was about 1/8 too narrow.

Made some more progress on the passenger side. I had a local metal shop bend up these rails. I just had to make them fit.

Just need to finish making the top portion

Passenger side is 99 percent done. Just need to finish welding the inner and outer rockers together. That will be done when the cab is back on and the doors are on.

Didn't get much done this weekend. Saturday just couldn't stay focused and motivated and Sunday finally had decent weather to move and replace our well pressure tank. Today I was able to get most of the pieces in. Just a couple small pieces left.

Got the rest of the patch panels tacked in. Now the fun part of spot welding it all in.

Got some more work done over the past couple days. Floors are completely welded in. Inner rocker is welded to the floor and tacked to the outer. And upper cab mount is tacked in.
