Could it be the ignition modular?

anything is possible. there isn't even any way to test the module. have you checked the coil to make sure power is making it that far?

I didn't check the coil but I changed the modular and it finally started right up

Ok guys and gals found me a transplant engine for the old truck I just want to see what y'all think it's worth. I don't know all the details but all most everything that can be added to it has been. It's a 600+ hp 440 out of a mud truck. What would y'all pay for it? I know I'm leaving a lot out but just a ball park

can't really say. plus unless it comes with a dino sheet i would not trust it putting out 600hp. also does it come with a transmission that will work with your truck? a big block transmission has a different bell housing than a small block so transmission will need to be replaced

well if comes with everything needed to bolt into your truck and run i would say about $1000 tops. i still wouldn't trust that it is putting out 600hp unless there was some serious money put into the engine like a stroker kit but it really wouldn't be a 440 anymore.

Well they only want $500 for it so I figured it was well worth that lol

if it comes with everything needed to drop it in that might be a good deal but you can definitely tell it is most likely lucky to be putting out about 300hp

Hey, it don't take much to make a 440 hit 400. Just a compression increase, cam and intake.

but the chances of a $500 engine putting out that much power is not likely. it is most likely just a stock 440 that someone is saying puts out 600 when it actually doesn't.

This is possible.
it is also a lot less fuel efficient than your 318

Ain't gonna be that bad. I got 11.5 hauling ass down the interstate.

it is most likely the truth. i would even be a bit worried there is something wrong with the engine if it is suppose to be this big power maker out of a mud truck but is being sold cheap.

different engine tho and most likely a completely different gas guzzling carb if it actually comes with one

The guy got it for helping a friend and he thought it was a Pontiac motor lol so it wasn't what he want so that's why it's 500 for me. I've been pestering him for awhile. He told me it's 1500 for anyone else
