I wonder, could you use heat activated carbon fiber printed film, lay it over the badge and setup a home made vacuum form system to pull the film over the contours of the emblem, then heat it to activate the adhesive?

Just messing around with the truck after my vararam install and I want to continue the theme of carbon fiber and burnt orange. I love the look of the blacked out rams and the white rams with blacked out grills, I just wish the front and rear RAM emblem stuck out a smidge more.

So after about 20min of fussing with the front grill emblem I was able to get it off the truck. Someone did a write up and put lighting in the front emblem but on my 2014 the front emblem is plastic welded together (so 2 pieces that I couldn't get apart) Because I really wanted to carbon fiber the whole back and have the rams head just popping off but no such luck. So I decided to outline the edge of the emblem with carbon fiber and then thought hmm the rams head has a pretty bad ass look on its face so decided to try and make that pop off alittle. This is what I came up with.

On the truck it looks awesome (its night time and I apologizd for the cell phone pics). Its a subtle pop off the full black grill and it also matches my theme when the hoods popped of my awesome looking vararam. You can kinda see the vararam in the pics and through the grill (carbon fiber panel).

I have a second filter cover that I have already wrapped the center part, and I think covering more of that plastic with cf wrap can only make it look better. Not to mention I already have some under there...

Go ahead man! I'm cool with it. I haven't done anything but put some wrap on my wheels. It's really getting cold out now. I thought about wrapping some of the engine cover and painting it as well. And maybe some of the covers if it looks doable but again not a huge priority.

I would have done the bottom area around the air cleaner but there are some.complex curves which can be a PITA to wrap. Once u stick it down and keep repeeling the wrap it's adhesive doesn't work so well and will not stick. You have some nice flat areas that would look good.

Besides that hydrodipping works amazing and you get perfect uniform coverage over all shapes and angles.

Yeah, I am just gonna wrap the same front areas as you did. I have done a few things with the cf wrap and it's a ***** when there are multiple curves and contours...

That looks different. U did a good job, I can see trying to wrap the corners the vinyl is gona wrinkle and make a mess. Stretching and heating will help.

There is also a difference in what type of vinyl cf you use. I have a roll of the 3D and a roll of the 4D. The 4D looks much more realistic.

Of course, 3D comes in flat and gloss, 4D basically only comes in gloss which is why it looks realistic. But u loose the immediate carbon fiber look of the flat 3D. I like the flat 3D for areas I want to scream carbon fiber and the gloss 3D or 4D for areas that don't scream carbon fiber unless u look alittle harder. Basically the gloss hides the texture of the fiber patching so it makes it less noticable but more realistic as all carbon fiber is covered in cleat resin or clear coat to protect it.

My roll of 4d is not very glossy... Here it is on my battery cover. Also, the VR filter cover I posted was the 4d.

Maybe not but it Def looks shinier than my 3D flay and gloss. I think it's an illusion as the weave is tighter which makes it looks shinier. Can be seen here.
