Also, you say someone told you that the Bils were set to the highest, but have you gotten under your truck and verified for yourself? There’s 5 rings I believe, so when on 2.8 it’s on the top ring, which means you should see 4 rings exposed.

Took a look today when they were re-balancing my tires... looks like 4 rings exposed - right?

Crazy! Yeah, you’re at 2.8. Must be the bumper! Throw some 34s or 35s on !

Wow! Didn’t realize how long it had been since I posted anything... lots of things have happened in the last month and some weeks:

-Found out my FB bedcover was for a 15-18 F150 with a 6.5 bed. Now I’m trying to resell it. [emoji30]
-After much researching, went with a Black Friday deal in the CORRECT Truxedo Deuce 2 bedcover:

7114b672783f1fcac3d8335f8d152b98.jpg

-Decided to go with the Truxedo Tonneaumate toolbox, too:
109e65dc4a6da3b280aba9c25e1ea234.jpg

Did more researching, and thanks to Dalton, picked these up:
14648495e89dbe34a1e94123ee99303c.jpg

And traveled to Nashville with the Fam for Christmas, and ran across a stellar deal on these:
8062edfcbb9e9ea8754d6a43dc894cb7.jpg
797398964f2cebec2df3d1e110eaf538.jpg

Will be selling my sport wheels and Goodyears soon. Not sure whether to keep the tires on or sell em seperately.

Thinking about having them separated, so I can use my stock TPMS sensors, and sell the wheels and tires separately for more $$$

Gonna be good times ahead!

Gonna be awesome with the extra front lift and Rebel wheels! You gonna do a rear spacer, or just wait to see what the front ends up, then decide?

Likely wait to see what the front end looks like... this level is going to be my limit in lift with this truck. The 3.55 rear makes going to taller tire a bad idea,

So, washingmy truck the other day at a friends wash bay, and he comes running up spraying something on my flares. Says it’ll make them look brand new...

No amount of scrubbing, rubbing, or coating fixed it. So, posed with two choices:
1) paint my flares, that the texture is all screwed up on, with all the rubbing/scrubbing/coating
2) order new ones

I ordered new ones...

New ones came in... I found a STEAL on a set of “smooth” ones off eBay, because I didn’t want a set of pocket/river style flares.

They came in completely smooth! Now to decide:

-Back to black
-White, with a vinyl like this

Thoughts?

FINALLY got the Eibach Pro Lift springs installed... truck finally sits ALMOST level

Started on the driver’s side to find out that the previous owner didn’t really pay attention when he installed the struts:

-Bottom strut bolt on drivers side with roughly 1/8” thread still showing between the but and strut body [emoji15]

-out with the old... Buddy of mine lent me his F150, to make sure I could make trips back and forth till I got finished. Had to put the ‘Stang outside to make room in the garage.

914d5d8f2b9d1a7d96e93398c13aeb10.jpg26b4d35afcb4059ab91e84a618280dd9.jpg

-In with the new!

Set at 3rd notch, and got me much closer to level:
LF: 38.5
LR: 38.5
RF: 38 5/8
RR: 39

I was worried I’d be adding a spacer to get the rear back up, but it appears that it won’t be an issue.

Obligatory CV/control arm angle pics - it’s been raining here, not a leaking truck, lol.

Just stumbled across your build after seeing your post in the eibach thread. Truck looks awesome and ironically enough, our rigs are almost clones. You have good taste sir. This is my first adult truck too. At 31 I finally realized money needs to go to better places than 37s and turbos. I do need to delete my ED tho, she feels a bit corked up.

If I could ask, could you shoot me a pic showing how flush those rebel wheels sit with the flares? I am torn, as I kinda want new wheels, but I don't want more than 0 offset at most. The mileage from this motor has become addictive so I'm not sure if I'll run bigger than these 33s, even tho they do look kinda small, there's no reason to kill mpg purely for looks. Apparentally the rebel wheels are an inch wider than my oem set and I really don't want anything wide, making an attempt to keep this thing nice. Custom offsets had some nice prices for alloy wheels, but than again for aesthetics only that money can be better spent and I can paint my stockers if the offset is similar to the rebels. I actually added a set of Rokblokz flaps to help with the mud on jobsites and winter crap and the truck has stayed so much cleaner and I don't hear rocks pinging sheet metal anymore.

I'll be following along for some more ideas.

Thanks! I can’t take all the credit. The truck came with most of the money spent already.

I’m right there with you. I’ve got one old money pit in the garage, so I’m keeping this one pretty mild. My wife likely doesn’t think so, but I’m not trying to stuff compounds or get 6” of Lift.

I’m sticking to 33’s mainly for mileage and gearing sake. My truck came with 3.55’s, and going up in tire size usually causes them to gear hunt tirelessly on the highway. I bought an ecodiesel for the utility with sedan-like Mpg.

I’ll see what I can do to get you some pics when it’s daylight. I’m a dialysis nurse, and it’s my call night - It’s I likely to be anything but dark by the time I leave tonight, lol. I’ll probably add some 1.5-2” spacers to get them closer to flush with the flares. Gotta do some measurements to be sure though.

Got any pics of your truck with the flaps? I’ve been eyeing a set of those for a while now.

SFT is possibly where I’m heading for trans tuning, and maybe an ECM tune too. Id like GDE, but not sure. Gonna see how SFT’s tunes turn out. My PPEI tune tends to let the EGT’s and boost get higher than I’d like, but I’m very rarely WOT.

Here's The link to my lift thread. All the way down is the rear coils and spacer setup I was referring to. I'll get some pics of the flaps up this afternoon.

I have the 3.55s as well and it's not terrible with 33s but these are heavy at 63#s and I can feel it struggling a bit in 8th gear on the highway. I'm tempted to rub some 285 75s that weigh a bit less, idk I'm so indecisive at this point. I'll prob just dip these wheels and throw on spacers to hold me over for now, than check out tires when the time comes. I have **** Cepek Fun Country's and these things wear like iron and have been great, I'm looking into the Exp's in the size we're running now. 57lbs and 33.1" actual height for under 200$ a tire. I mean for the extra money and minor tire size change I don't think it's worth it. One day maybe but eh, that's what toys are for.

What did you use to black out the B pillars?

I saw where you tagged me, I just haven’t been able to dig into it much. Shoot me some more info on the tire you’re talking about swapping to. I’m not making any changes any time soon. The Open Country ATII’s that my Rebel wheels came with only had 1k miles on them, and I’ll have roughly $500 in the whole setup after putting new TPMS sensors in.

My truck came with the vinyl from the factory, but the PO painted the pillars where the vinyl started letting go [emoji15][emoji30]

Sometimes, I wonder what he was thinking... then again, nah - I stole this truck, price wise (10k!), and God’s been good to me - the issues I’ve found have been more annoyances than anything.

Ok cool, my tapatalk has been acting up so I wasn't sure if it actually tagged you or bumped the thread.

As for tires, I don't need them right yet, so I'm just looking ahead. I commute so much I need a decent tire for highway that can handle whatever I encounter at job sites, some I have a parking lot, others like I'm on now I'm slogging through 200yds of muddy sand and silt. As of now I'm looking at 2 tires. Coopers at3 xlt in 285/75s and **** Cepek Exp in 285/70s. Both spec out closely, the coopers being a bit taller, which I am considering just to full the wheel wells up a bit. I'm sure I'll want a tune if I go that big tho, as with 3.55s the truck won't hold 8th unless I'm ripping at 80mph holding about 2k rpm.

The more I look at the offset, the more I may just go with spacers and black these wheels out. I'll keep hunting for the rebel take offs locally but they aren't a necessity, they just spec out a bit better than oem 7" wheels. I do like being able to keep my truck clean with the flaps and flares tho. I have been looking and don't want to spend the big bucks for a set of nice hubcentric wheels either, so I may just grab some bora spacers at 1.5" which would be equivalent of a -12mm offset and see how I like it.

I can't believe the guy painted the vinyl area as touch up?!? Bit for 10k if live with few gripes! I paid almost 3 times that amount for a tradesman, but I sure do like this little pig. A bit of changes and it will be all better

You can see I have about 2-2.5" of coverage to the edge of the flap from where the main tread slings goo. 77b750da317d5fa859b592fb428ce9c0.jpga05dbdc01e2fbeb06aa51ec3205a06d1.jpg

Man, thanks for all the info and pictures! I will definitely dig through it! I’ll wind up with those flaps, more than likely too.

Couple quick shots to show you how much the rebels and 285/70’s sit in the fender wells. I figure a 1.5” spacer would get me close. @ predat-r has a set of 2” spacers that I’m considering too.

Ended up pulling my flares off tonight. Between being a bit unsure of how I felt about them, not wanting to spend money for wheels or spacers, and the amount of crap stuck behind them when I washed it today I decided to leave them off. Flaps are still on. The offset with no flares is just about flush, so I can't complain. I spent 40$ on the flares so it doesn't hurt too much being indecisive about that. I will keep them and may do them down the road when I decided to change my mind again lol. My truck being a tradesman just didn't flow well with all the different colors going on, black chrome, silver and white....very confused.

Don't know how I missed this! I have pics of flap coverage minis flares. I ordered some 1.5 spacers so I think flares will be goin back on. I'm gonna try to use some black rtv silicon and make a nice rounded bead along the edge where it will contact the body. I'm in no real rush per se so I'm gon a try and figure out how to keep these from grinding through the paint.

Pics are lousy and I can try to grab better of you'd like. My truck is never clean anymore between work and rain so I'm not much for taking pics.

Btw, I think you need to post about your little fiasco [emoji41]08ebcafd2b0b5b2a233665cc9c3a7bb7.jpg
