My iPad/ phone mount solution

I was already invested in the Ram Mount system and wanted something that wasn’t intrusive when not in use. So I used the ram t slot rail in the upper cubby.

just mounted it with some screws( had to make one small hole in the radio bezel to clear the middle screw) if it loosens up over time I’ll use some small bolts.

I also trimmed the rubber mat so it looks as factory as possible.

PS Bayou makes a double and triple mount plate as well.
PSS You will need to leave screws loose, then slide in modified rubber tray, and then lift each side to tighten mount, or at least I did, could not get rubber back in without doing so.

Unfortunately, that's illegal in most states. Good luck with not getting pulled over because of it. Great idea though.

He's probably referring to the mount and tablet partially obstructing the view....Most LE are not going to bother with something like that.

Not worried about it, and it doesn't obstruct my view. I can still see the hood above it from where it sits.

I did see that mount when looking around for ideas. I'm not really a fan of suction cup mounts. Also the T-track sits a lot lower in the tray so you don't really see it at all when not in use.

Neither am I and the reason I did this, magnetic arm. Easy to pop on and off

Try this on for size for blocking the view. This is stock in the new Explorer. Might as well have just stuck a mount in there themselves.

I love it. GREAT idea. I made one for my GPS but used the GPS mount to a plastic plate. I can remove the GPS but not the mount ! Love your set up. Thanks
