Hey guys, this is my first post on here although I've been a member for awhile to read on some stuff. Anyways I just wanted to show off my truck and introduce my self.

It's a 1998 Regular Cab with the 5.9 L engine. I LOVE this truck and I got it for super cheap because it had the cursed death wobble (it was so violent). A brand new front suspension later and I have a perfectly great truck with only 107,000 miles!

I've already done a few modification to it, all pretty small but I have so much more planned.

I blacked out the grille and back bumper and de-badged the emblems and built a custom flag mount. She's got a 4 inch lift but really really needs some bigger off road tires, but that's pricey. Plus camo floor mats and wheel cover but you guys all know what that looks like :p

Next modifications are for sure new wheels and some light bars and headlights. Give me some suggestions!

Anyways, here are some pictures of her. :favorites13:

gr8 ram, shortbox is the only way to go imho
you can find some 33's used on craigslist for prob $350 and they will fit nice with the 4" lift you got
i like how you blacked stuff out thats cool
def do the new headlights
the only thing i would play with is the rims, try plasti dipping them black first maybe, but with the 33"s you may want an 8" wide rim anyway rather than the 7"
love the truck!

8" wide on 33's is a great look, what I've got. as for headlights, get stock replacements and I'd completely stay away from halos and projectors. welcome to the forum!

For headlights, you can either get new aftermarket housings or stock replacements or you can wet sand and clear coat them. But definitely go with LED bulbs. They're great and only $100. I recently hit a deer and with the LEDs in heavy rain it lit up like a Xmas tree. I was able to get from 70 down to 50 before hitting it. I was thinking about changing over to HIDs and projectors but why spend all that extra cash for the same or worse visibility than i have now?

Exhaust work brings a new fun factor top just about any v8 so i might look into that if you haven't. However if you haven't looked into the plenum issue i would stay with that very first thing

With exhaust go with flowmaster. Unless your DD or pretty much everyone beside like 3 other guys. I love flowmaster. GREAT tone and just overall great sound.

For headlights, stay away from halos/projectors. Too many people have had issues with both so save your money and headache and stay away. Go with either stock replacement or a aftermarket housing. Like pepper said, hid's are okay but are a headache if you dont know what your doing and sometimes illegal. LED's are a great option for better light output!

Everybody that recommends flowmaster had never magnaflow. People that recommend magnaflow have often switched from flowmaster. Btw go Magnaflo, hated my Flowmaster

Update!

Hey guys, it's been awhile since my last post but I thought I should stop by for an update.

What I've done since the last time you've seen it:

  • Installed 55' curved light bar
  • Installed tow mirrors
  • Installed step bar
  • Tinted headlights/taillights (still want new headlights)
  • New tires
  • Some more plastidip (wheels while I wait to buy good ones)
  • Ran a straight pipe out the side in front of the rear right wheel

Up next will be new wheels and a headache rack.

Thanks guys, I'm still open for suggestions.

Have me build you some lights. Can do custom stuff and make em your own lol.

In all seriousness though, nice progress. Not the route many of us would go but it's yours and makes it yours.

Make it 4 others, I hate flowmasters, they let way too much high end noise through. I have a V8 that sounds like a V8, not my buddies Ford Ranger with a puny V6 that sounds like a suped up lawn mower. He loves his flowmaster though, he thinks it sounds bad ass, guess that means I have some bad ass yard equipment by his standards.

Looking good man, i'm not a fan of curved light bars, but this isn't my truck. I would have a flat bar across the bumper with square floods all around the roof, but i've always loved those aussie trail vehicles.

In all seriousness, do yourself a favor and get some louvers, they are really nice in the rain and would accent the doors nicely.

If you havent done it, get the plenum fixed as soon as possible. Nothing spoils a truck worse than pinging and rough idle/misfiring.

I am very offended (yes I was in the military)when I go to the mud holes and see our flag DRAGGED sopping wet through the mud/dirt.Just sayin!!:flame:
