Hey all.

So as we all know, the chrome trim ring on the center console is just dangerous. I've seen people Plastidip the trim ring or paint it. But I took a different route.

I ordered some Carbon Fiber vinyl wrap from Amazon

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0058DIDTY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And decided to wrap the ring instead. I will admit this is my first time attempting something like this, but for that price I got a huge roll and I have a ton leftover after doing the trim ring. There is one little slice where I lost control of the razor and it went a little too far, but it's not too noticeable. No air bubbles in the application either. Took me all of about twenty minutes to do.

What do you all think?

Looks good. I want to apply that stuff to the wood trim in mine, but not excited about how the wood is attached to the doors.

I had my hands and fingers all over it while I was applying it. Not a mark in sight. I have a ton leftover too. I may wind up doing the rings around the vents too.

How do you remove the center console to cover it? Or did you do it in the truck?

Thanks guys. Yeah I just pulled the ring out with my hands. I first thought I had to remove the 5 bolts holding the center piece in and detach the trim ring from the bottom of it. But I found as I was trying to lift it out after removing the bolts the ring just came up on its own.

What I like about this particular wrap is it's actually textured. It's not smooth to the touch like your typical printed vinyl. It feels more realistic in my opinion. I've always dug the look of carbon fiber and I think used in moderation like this it makes a really nice accent. And it's way better than being blinded by sun reflecting off that damn thing all the time.

You did a good a good job, and I like the look.

I was going to buy some of the carbon fiber, but ended up trying the plasti-dip and liked the results, so I have not changed it.

No fingerprint issues on ours.

So to remove the ring all you have to do is pull it up?
