i got the 18" installed earlier today and i tested it with the ECO mode going on and off and its barely noticeable.

no drone, just great sound. The muffler shop pushed the exhaust to the very back almost to the point where the muffler is welded on where the pipes start to climb over the axle.

can we get a video of you with the new mufflers so we can hear it? OR did you get a V6?

:)

I listened to all of them on YouTube. That's why i went with what i did. I need to record the drone and share.

Question...is it possible after these two mods to get worse gas mileage (other than the obvious of getting on the throttle more to hear the exhaust) Ruling that out assuming I'm driving the same, how long does it take for the ecm to figure things out after having the battery disconnected for an hour plus. 5 miles, 10 miles, 500 miles?

Or is the only way to solve this issue with a tuner?

From what I understand it takes about 30 miles + or - for the truck to relearn after the battery is disconnected. The mods shouldnt get you any worse mileage really. More air does equal more fuel but the motor is less corked up so it should run more efficiently. Its really tough to get good mileage after the mods have been newly added though as its just too much fun to listen to the sound when you mash the skinny pedal.

I need to hear more on this subject, as I was planning a Mufflex 18" with Vararam. Can anyone confirm that the Mufflex J-pipe drone-eliminator works?? Can adding a crossover tube really cure the drone??

I've got more miles on it now. In term of at startup, idle and when you get on it, it sounds awesome. I couldn't be happier.

It appears my around town mileage suffers a bit by about 1-2mpg. Conversely on the highway it seems to be up about 1-2mpg. Seems a bit odd but I'm guessing thats the cai being optimized a bit more.

At 65-70 on the highway it drones. Worse with the windows up. If I was by myself I probably wouldn't be bothered. With the whe family in tow I find it annoying. I recorded it on my cell phone and you can't hear it. I need to try with my wifes phone.

I'm now debating on the j pipe from mufflex.
