Thanks guys!

Matt, this is the first white vehicle I have owned. I've never been a huge fan of plain white vehicles either, but this truck has enough black to mix it up a bit.

Nice truck man. This is giving me a lot of ideas for when I get my PW. Whatever it is that you do for a living..........I want to do it too. Sign me up.
It sure seems to not only pay the bills but pay for a badass truck with more mods than I could ever dream up.

:shake:

I think that every day! I sell the big stuff not the little home stuff so I don't get the immediate in rush is sales during an ice storm, but that does get big businesses thinking about standby power. Nothing convinces a business to buy a generator like being without power and loosing money! Casinos have treated me well this year.

I'm about 95% done. The tank has been mounted the same way as the compressors, L bracket and drilled and tapped frame. Once I get the final plumbing done, I'm going to put some sort of splash guard under the compressors. I should have the last few parts in by Monday then I'll just have to apply thread sealant to all the fittings and connect the compressor air lines to the tank.

I mounted a toggle switch on the bottom side of the dash. You can't even tell it's there when you're sitting in the truck but it's easy to get to. It's wired to the 12V outlet that's ignition switched. This wire goes under the hood to the positive side of the relay coils. Then the negative side of the coil wires goes through the pressure switch mounted on the tank.

I turned on the compressors to test the wiring and they are much quieter than I was expecting. They have a nice deep tone with higher quality sound than the cheap 12V compressors. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the quick connector mounted on the tank. It's fairly easy to get to but I may route it to the rear bumper. This will make airing up trailer tires easier.

The compressors and air tank should be pretty protected where you mounted them. Clean install.

Very clean install. I bet you are glad you have such a long truck. That's alot of hardware under there.

They are protected pretty well from big stuff hitting them off road but they still might get caked in mud. A thin sheet of metal over the bottom of the L brackets would be pretty easy to install and couldn't hurt anything...

It's a very tight fit. The floor storage that hangs down made things a little more difficult. I really wanted a 5 gallon tank but all the ones I found were about an inch too long.

I'm 100% done with the system. I got my airline, fittings, and Loctite 545 in the mail on Monday and finished up the final plumbing. I flipped the switch on to start the compressors and nothing happened. I started checking fuses, all were good. Then checked the relays, both were functioning correctly. Checked voltage at the distribution block, relays, and compressors, everything was showing 0V. When I turned the switch off then I had 12V at the distribution block and one side of the relay, just as I should. Turned the switch back on, and 0V everywhere. Check fuses again, two on the distribution block and one at the battery, all ohmed out good. I was frustrated and tired so I called it a day. I went to school for electrical engineering, I shouldn't be having these problems.

Went back out yesterday with a clear head and it was obvious what was wrong. With the switch off, I had 12V right after the fuse at the battery, but with it on, it went to 0V. I replaced the 60A glass fuse and the compressors fired up. Not sure why I didn't try this the day before. I've never seen a fuse that would ohm out good but be open when a load was applied. Very odd...

I then decided that I didn't like the location of my quick connect, so I got some 1/4" air hose and routed it to the rear of the truck. It's mounted to a strip of aluminum and covered in plasti-dip. I covered the quick connect with a rubber table end I got from the hardware store. I used hose barbs and hose clamps for this connection, I hope it doesn't leak over time. If it does, I'll replace it with some DOT airline and compression fittings. So far, I don't see any leaks. I'll let it sit for a few days then see if I've lost any pressure. Fill time from 0 psi to 145 psi was just under 3 minutes. I've got my tire inflation gun and about 20' of air hose that I will keep in the truck. This will reach all of the truck tires as well as the tires on most trailers.

Let me know what you think about it... I have not really been able to drive my truck since I got it and want to get your true feeling about it.

I have only driven a couple miles to get gas. I'll get in the highway tonight and see how it compares to stock and the Vararam.
