I have found plenty of belt tensioners, but the problem is none of them come with the bolt to mount it on, and I can't find the part number anywhere.
Can anyone help me with sourcing this part? It would be greatly appreciated.
It is the Bolt that holds the Belt tensioner on for the serpentine belt.
Truck is a 2005 Ram 1500 5.7L

Thanks,
Blain

Reach out to Benny @AllMoparParts.com who is a vendor on this site. He can certainly get you the information needed.

Quick Google search found this...

Thanks, I'll give him a try.

I did find the link that you sent, but for some reason it is not for the 5.7L.

From my limited research it looks like the tensioner is different on the 3.7 and 4.7L, so not sure that this bolt would work

Interesting since the second image implies it's for the 5.7. Definitely talk with Benny. He can use your VIN and look up exactly what you need.

I just noticed your second picture actually says it's for 5.7L and 3.7L but doesn't mention 4.7L. However when I went to the site (Tasca Parts and Mopar parts) if I click on the Fitment list, it lists 3.7L and 4.7L, but doesn't list 5.7L. This is what I saw earlier, and figured it isn't the correct part, but could never find another part that said it was for the 5.7L.
I'm hoping that this is just a case of incorrect/incomplete fitment data and it is the correct bolt, but I'd like to verify that before purchasing.

Thanks again for your help. I've left Benny a message, so hopefully he can clear this up soon.

Edit: I guess I should update my web page before replying. I see that you just pointed out the 2nd picture as well. There's definitely something going on with the fitment info.

Blain

I appreciate the link for the parts manual. This will help a lot in the future. Unfortunately, it did not call out the bolt in question for a 5.7L
I did see that Tasca parts lets you put your VIN in to verify fitment of a part, so I think I'm going to go ahead and order and do that to see if they can verify.
Looking at the bolt, it looks correct. And it does show "5.7L" in the description, it just doesn't show it in the fitment list and also warns that "This part does not fit your 2005 Dodge Ram 1500" which is why I'm a little skeptical.
And if all else fails, Hopefully I can source a very similar bolt at a hardware store.
Thanks again for all of your help.
If this 6504930AA part comes back as correct, I'll post back in case this will help someone else in the future.

Blain

I absolutely did look at that.
And I know for a fact that is not the correct bolt because 30mm long is only about 1.125" where the bolt that came out is closer to 2.75.
It's also not labeled in the diagram. I have no idea where the #5 balloon is, but it's definitely not for the tensioner.

Looks to me like #5 is a screw and washer and #2 is the stud that goes into the engine. Look closely at what the numbers point to.

Alright, I got the Bolt (6504930AA) in the mail today and it is a correct fit.
Not sure why it is not called out for the 5.7L in the fitment list, but for anyone that needs to have this bolt replaced, they can safely order the 6504930AA that is called out on the 3.7L and 4.7L and it will fit to mount the belt tensioner of the 5.7L as well.

I've been in design for over 20 years so I know these things can slip by during the review process, but something over 15 years old and tons sold.....you would think it would have been corrected by now.

check out www.mopargiants.com. part number 6101998 for 5.48 Hex head screw and washer M10 1.5 x 65.00. I get a lot of my parts from these folks, and they are usually 30 to 50percent cheaper than a dealership parts department. Good luck. Oh yah look under Dodge then ram.
