I bought running boards online and even watched several videos on how to install them on my truck but when I got under the truck I don’t have the same holes they do so I couldn’t install. I have a 2016 crew cab slt

Which running board kit did you purchase? Can you provide the part number too? I have run into this issue before with several of my customers trucks.

Did you remove the tape? The 1st time i went under my truck i was overwhelmed by what i had to do. I watched vids on how to do it a couple times went under and was "holy crap i can't do this"!!! Got back out from under and packed it in. Overnight i thought about what I watched and in the morning watched them again and then saw it was me not removing the tape and after that it was a breeze

I suspect you have ordered the wrong boards. I have installed running boards on my new truck as well as several others in the past. Never had them not fit perfectly on any vehicle. Call the company...make sure you have the right part. Good luck.

Yes you do have to remove the tape to uncover the holes in the body that you need for your brackets.

Ill be attempting this as well over the weekend. Ordered a set of OEDRO boards that seem to have good reviews. Hopefully dont run into any issues installing.

Those look good, hopefully they can get it all figured out without having to send them back.

I’m thinking about re ordering a set of oedro also. How did your install go?

It was pretty simple install and solid board. Only problem I had were these plastic covers that should go on the mounting brackets, they didnt look right clipped in and were always crooked. I ended up just tossing those away. I ended up ordering a set for my brothers 5th gen as well.

If you're having trouble with the steps and you're sure you got the right ones, I think with a bad knee, I'd be looking for a friend or a neighbor that likes to drink beer and see if they can help you out----Hint-I finally figured out it's always better to have the beer after your done, at least with my friends---LOL

My brother was able to help me install them. We made the kit work with some modifications. I guess that’s what I get for ordering a cheap running board

Ugh, those look a bit like my Tyger Blades. I do a lot of my own work on everything like house, truck, van, etc. This set installation was one of the biggest PIA activities I ever had compounded by a total lack of support. Definitely listen to the people on the forum here and go with one of the sets they recommend.
