Need help

Looking to buy a travel trailer/ toy hauler. The dry weight of the trailer is 6100 lbs. The tow rig is a 2010 Quad cab Ram with 3.55 gears. I have a weight distribution hitch to use. Is this to heavy to haul with my truck. Also there is a chance I would put 2 atvs in the toy section of the trailer and they would add about 1000lbs to the rear section. But most of the time I would not have them.

You'll be fine. Just be aware of how the load is placed in the trailer. You don't want to be too heavy or too light behind the trailer's axle. Also, get specs on what a loaded trailer's tongue weight will be and make sure your receiver is rated for that load.

internet search comes up with max towing to be around 7500 lbs, sound about right for your truck? be careful, obviously. and like maddog said, get the specifics of your set up figured out.

I am pretty sure the hitch I have on my truck is a v5. And the internet searches are what is driving me crazy! I have found anywhere from 5875 lbs to 9000 lbs. So I have no clue.

According to your profile you have the 4.7l is that true? How long is the toy hauler And what's the dry hitch weight. These are all questions that need to be anwswred.

On a 2010 4.7l quad cab 3.55 starts at 6100 and goes up to 6300 pending options and trim level.

Sorry I just saw you reply. Just stock options and slt trim. The toy hauler is 31' long and weighs 6100lbs dry. Not sure about the tongue or hitch weight. I know the current owner has a weight distribution hitch and tows it with a 2007 Cadillac Escalade.
