Hey all, i plan on upgrading the speakers in my truck to some kickers for better quality, for the doors they are 6x9's front and back, should i leave it that way with the replacements or change a set to 6.5's?

if they are the drop in kickers I say the 6x9 is ok if you are going with a completely different brand it is much easier to find a 6.5 the fits depth wise.

Mmmhmm. There's a few recent threads where it didn't end that way. I think that was another forum :)

Any difference in quality or performance in having 6.5's vs. 6x9's in the front?

Depends on the quality of speaker that you buy, most of the high performance 6x9's won't fit due to depth so thats why people put 6.5s in. Also your install is going to help with the quality of sound more than any other thing you can buy/do.
