New 2018 Ram

Greetings....

I just picked up my new 2018 Ram Express quad cab 4x4. I looked at the 2019's but the 2018 rebates were just too darn good. It's kind of a base model, which is what I wanted. I traded a 2007 Escalade on it, which was the biggest money pit I every owned!! Glad to be done with it.

The Ram rides a little rougher than the Caddy, as expected, but I love the power and the fuel mileage....went from 12-13 mpg to 20-21 mpg....hurrah!!

Express just means you can update what you want and leave the rest alone lol. I got my SLT and upgraded the radio and a few other things to make it how I wanted. Not buying one with all the options that I probably wouldn’t use much or ever.

The top one is from when I drove it off the lot to work when I picked it up. The Bottom one Is from 5 minutes ago

I Plasti Dip the Grill, emblems and wheels. Added in channel visors. Front window tint to 30%. Black steel running boards. 8.4 conversion from RA2. Headlights are black version of Quad halogens with LED lights. Tail Lights upgraded to plug and play LED. 60in tailgates light bar. I plan on keeping a little chrome just for some accent and to look different from a full black out truck.

Nice. I'm deciding now on a 2018 v-6 gas Express or an Ecodiesel Tradesman. there's about a $5,000 difference in net price. Thought about the new 2019 but I am 80% decided on the Ecodiesel and who knows when those will be out for 2019 and how long before the price is this low. It's kind of an impulse buy for me.

What led taillights did you buy. I had some on my last ram but kept getting error messages that my parking light were out...

I got them off eBay. The tail lights actually just plug right into the bulb socket like putting in a bulb. I only have the 3” display not the premium 7” so I can’t confirm if it throws the error or not. With Alpha I’ve seen people have changed the LED taillights option in their bcm and it take the code away.
